The widespread use of plastic products worldwide has brought about serious environmental issues. In natural environments, it's difficult for plastic products to degrade completely, and so they exist in the form of micro/nanoplastics (M/NPs), which have become a new type of pollutant. Prolonged exposure to M/NPs can lead to a series of health problems in humans, particularly toxicity to the nervous system, with consequences including neurodevelopmental abnormalities, neuronal death, neurological inflammation, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Background: According to statistics, ovarian cancer (OV) is the most prevalent type of gynecologic malignancy and has the highest mortality rate of all gynecologic tumors. Although several studies have shown that oxidative stress (OS) contributes significantly to the onset and progression of cancer, the role of OS in OV needs to be investigated further. Thus, it is critical to comprehend the function of OS-related genes in OV.

Developing a highly effective nano-drug delivery system with sufficient drug permeability and retention in tumors is still a major challenge for oncotherapy. Herein, a tumor microenvironment responsive, aggregable nanocarriers embedded hydrogel (Endo-CMC@hydrogel) was developed to inhibit the tumoral angiogenesis and hypoxia for enhanced radiotherapy. The antiangiogenic drug (recombinant human endostatin, Endo) loaded carboxymethyl chitosan nanoparticles (Endo-CMC NPs) was wrapped by 3D hydrogel to comprise the Endo-CMC@hydrogel.

Ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (OV) is a fatal gynecologic cancer with a five-year survival rate of only 46%. Resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy is a prevalent factor in OV patients, leading to increased mortality. The platinum resistance in OV is driven by transcriptome heterogeneity and tumor heterogeneity.

Purpose: This study investigated the functional outcomes of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) after physiological ischemic training (PIT), identified the optimal PIT protocol, evaluated its cardioprotective effects and explored the underlying neural mechanisms.
Methods: Patients with CHF were randomly divided into experimental group ( = 25, PIT intervention + regular treatment) and control group ( = 25, regular treatment). The outcomes included the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and cardiopulmonary parameters.

Background: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is one of the most common pathological types of lung cancer. The gene Chloride Intracellular Channel 5 () has an important role in neurophysiology, cardiovascular biology, and tumour biology. Here, we explored the prognostic value and immune infiltration of expression in LUAD patients.

Background: To evaluate the clinical research related to the level and integrity of circulating free DNA (cfDNA) in the plasma of patients with multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: The plasma samples of 56 patients with newly diagnosed MM and 60 healthy volunteers were collected. ALU247 fragment and ALU115 fragment were used as target genes, and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was used to assess the plasma of the patient and healthy control groups.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a malignancy originating from gastric epithelial tissue. Chemoresistance to cisplatin (DDP) often leads to chemotherapy failure in GC. Previously, miR-522 was found to be associated with chemoresistance in GC cells.

Background: The study was aimed to find promising targets for cancer therapy involved in the tumorigenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: Identification of STEAP4 in HCC between GSE54503 and TCGA datasets by performing RNA-seq. The STEAP4 mRNA expression level was determined by qRT-PCR.

Growing evidence indicates that Ras‑association domain family 10 () is a novel tumor‑suppressor gene that is involved in the inhibition of tumor progression and metastasis; however, the biological functions and molecular mechanisms of RASSF10 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) have not yet been thoroughly elucidated. The expression of RASSF10 in ESCC tissues and adjacent non‑tumor tissues was investigated employing quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays of tissue microarrays. The function of RASSF10 in ESCC cell growth, migration and invasion was determined by CCK‑8, colony formation, scratch wound healing and Transwell invasion assays, respectively.

Recently, change in the GNG13 expression has been shown to result in multiple congenital malformations and sexual reversal, and it was also found in the brain. The aim of this study was to measure the expression levels in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and breast cancer (BC) and assess their value as a potential prognostic marker. The correlation of GNG13 protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 119 EOC and 125 BC tissues.

Background: Our objective is to evaluate the application values and effects of nanocarbon negative imaging technology in surgery for patients with the fifth stage of chronic kidney disease complicated with secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT).
Methods: Eighty-nine patients with SHPT in the fifth stage of chronic kidney disease admitted to the Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery at the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University between January 2018 and August 2020 were selected. All patients underwent total parathyroidectomy (tPTX) and were randomly divided into a group receiving nanocarbon (observation group; group A) and a control group (group B).

Fibronectin (FN) type III domain containing 3B (FNDC3B), a member of the FN family, regulates the invasion and metastasis of cells in numerous tumor types. However, the mechanisms through which FNDC3B regulates carcinogenesis in lung adenocarcinoma (LADC) tissues have remained elusive. The present study revealed that the protein levels of FNDC3B and vimentin were significantly elevated in LADC tissues compared with those in normal lung tissues.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LADC)is a general form of non-small cell lung cancer that represents a significant threat to public health worldwide. The 5-year-survival rate for LADC is currently below 15%. The transcription factor KLF15, also called kidney-enriched KLF (KKLF), has been proven to play a role in inhibiting proliferation and diversification of carcinoma cells, including those of the endometrium, pancreas and breast, but the involvement of KLF15 in LADC has not previously been studied.
