The long-term impact of postoperative morbidity following laparoscopic liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma is unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma patients were affected by postoperative morbidity after laparoscopic liver resection. Hepatocellular carcinoma patients who underwent curative-intent laparoscopic liver resection were included.

Background: This study aims to examine the alterations and clinical significance of CD8 regulatory T cell subsets in the peripheral blood of individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).

Methods: From January 2020 to December 2023, a study was conducted involving 40 individuals with T1DM, who visited the Department of Endocrinology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (T1DM group). For comparison, 40 healthy individuals who underwent routine physical examinations at the same hospital during this period were selected as the control group.

Objective: In this paper, we analyzed the outcomes of foreign bodies in the digestive tract of 42 children who were hospitalized in the pediatric department of a tertiary hospital in a medium-sized city in China. The focus is on discussing the indications for removal of foreign bodies via digestive endoscopy. Methods: Forty-two children with foreign bodies in the digestive tract, hospitalized from June 2020 to October 2022 were selected.

Depression triggered by harmful stress in adolescents is a common phenomenon that can lead to serious social problems. Its treatment is still frustrating in the clinic. We reported the phenomenon that a 12-day chronic unpredictable stress (CUS), starting on postnatal day 28, led to a significant decrease in the number of microglia in the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus in adult mice.

A novel anti-epileptogenesis strategy of temporal lobe epilepsy based on nitric oxide donor.

The molecular mechanism underlying the role of hippocampal hilar interneuron degeneration in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) remains unclear. Especially, very few studies have focused on the role of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS, encoded by Nos1) containing hilar interneurons in TLE. In the present study, Nos1 conditional knockout mice were constructed, and we found that selective deletion of Nos1 in hilar interneurons rather than dentate granular cells (DGCs) triggered epileptogenesis.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 320 patients with HCC who underwent LLR. According to the grading of MVI, patients were classified as M0, M1 and M2.

Introduction: Preoperative inspiratory muscle training (IMT) is recognised as an important component of the preoperative management of lung cancer, although there is limited evidence for the delivery of a home-based IMT programme combined with preoperative education. We developed a programme combining short-term home-based IMT and preoperative physiotherapy education ('the programme'). This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this programme in reducing postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) after lung cancer resection compared with standard care.
