Dental anomalies in craniofacial microsomia and condylo-mandibular dysplasia: A retrospective study of 103 patients.

Introduction: Craniofacial microsomia (CFM) and camel-hump condylo-mandibular dysplasia (CMD) are developmental disorders affecting the mandible that share common clinical features. This study aimed to investigate and compare the dental anomalies (DA) between the two entities for differential diagnosis and to propose appropriate treatment.

Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was based on panoramic radiographs of patients diagnosed with CFM or CMD.

The objective of our study was to assess the attitudes and behaviors in Japan regarding sun exposure and compare them to those in Europe and North America. The study population was a representative sample of individuals aged >18 years from Ipsos panels in Japan (N = 1000), North America (N = 1000), and Europe (N = 6000) using the quota method. Questionnaires covered habits, practices, and perceptions regarding sun exposure.

To assess the corticosteroid-sparing effect among patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) treated with Belimumab in real-life settings. Multicentric observational retrospective study including patients with SLE and having received Belimumab for at least 6 months between 2011 and 2020, in eight French hospitals.

Juvenile onset recurrent respiratory papillomatosis: What do we know in 2024 ?

Juvenile onset recurrent respiratory papillomatosis is a lifelong benign squamous lesion associated with HPV infection, particularly HPV6 and HPV11 genotypes. These lesions are rare, but can lead to laryngeal obturations, which can cause disabling dyspnea, or transform into squamous cell carcinoma. The aim here is to provide an epidemiological, biological and clinical overview of this pathology, particularly in children, in order to understand the issues at stake in terms of research and the development of medical and therapeutic management tools.

Social cognition in children with neurofibromatosis type 1.

Introduction: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a genetic pathology that can lead to impaired social functioning that has a negative impact on patients' quality of life. To date, although the hypothesis of impaired social cognition has been proposed as a potential explanation for these difficulties, very few studies have focused on theory of mind in children with NF1. Furthermore, other complex sociocognitive abilities have never been investigated.

Efficacy of CAR T-cell therapy is not impaired by previous bispecific antibody treatment in large B-cell lymphoma.

In this retrospective study, chimeric antigen receptor T cells remained effective in patients with relapsed/refractory large B-cell lymphoma after prior exposure to bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) targeting different antigens. These results are relevant to clinical practice, particularly given the increasing use of BsAbs in earlier treatment lines.

Comprehensive Genetic Profiling Reveals Frequent Alterations of Driver Genes on the X Chromosome in Extranodal NK/T-cell Lymphoma.

Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTCL) is an Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-related neoplasm with male dominance and a poor prognosis. A better understanding of the genetic alterations and their functional roles in ENKTCL could help improve patient stratification and treatments. In this study, we performed a comprehensive genetic analysis of 178 ENKTCL cases to delineate the landscape of mutations, copy number alterations (CNA), and structural variations, identifying 34 driver genes including six previously unappreciated ones, namely, HLA-B, HLA-C, ROBO1, CD58, POT1, and MAP2K1.

Refractory chronic immune thrombocytopenia (r-cITP) is one of the most challenging situations in chronic immune thrombocytopenia (cITP). Pediatric r-cITP is inconsistently defined in literature, contributing to the scarcity of data. Moreover, no evidence is available to guide the choice of treatment.

Influence of light absorption rate on the astaxanthin production by the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis during nitrogen starvation.

Large amounts of astaxanthin (about 4% DW) can be produced under nitrogen starvation of Haematococcus pluvialis in photobioreactors (PBRs) exposed to high light conditions to induce a light stress. However, in PBR, the large biomass concentration usually achieved leads to strong light attenuation conditions, which makes complex the analysis of this "light stress". This study aims to elucidate the role of light transfer in astaxanthin cell content and productivity from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis during nitrogen starvation.

[Hematological toxicities post-CAR-T cells: Recommendations of the Francophone Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (SFGM-TC)].

Chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T cell) therapy has become a standard-of-care for several hematological and a promising treatment for solid malignancies or for selected non-malignant autoimmune disorders. Hematological complications following this treatment are very common with the majority of patients experiencing at least one cytopenia after CAR-T cell injections. The management of these adverse events is not standardized and represents an area of active research and unmet clinical needs.

Medication Deprescribing in Patients Receiving Hemodialysis: A Prospective Controlled Quality Improvement Study.

Rationale & Objective: Patients treated with dialysis are commonly prescribed multiple medications (polypharmacy), including some potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs). PIMs are associated with an increased risk of medication harm (eg, falls, fractures, hospitalization). Deprescribing is a solution that proposes to stop, reduce, or switch medications to a safer alternative.

Prognostic value of 18 FDG-PET at diagnosis and follow-up in giant cell arteritis: An observational restrospective study.

Objectives: To evaluate the ability of FDG PET/CT, at diagnosis of giant cell arteritis (GCA) and during follow-up, to predict occurrence of relapse in large-vessel GCA (LV-GCA).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study using the French Study Group for Large-Vessel Vasculitis (GEFA) network. Data from patients with LV-GCA diagnosed by PET/CT and who had PET/CT in the following year were collected.

Use of a Belatacept-based Immunosuppression for Kidney Transplantation From Donors After Circulatory Death: A Paired Kidney Analysis.

Background: Efficacy and safety of belatacept have not been specifically reported for kidney transplantations from donors after circulatory death.

Methods: In this retrospective multicenter paired kidney study, we compared the outcome of kidney transplantations with a belatacept-based to a calcineurin inhibitor (CNI)-based immunosuppression. We included all kidney transplant recipients from donors after uncontrolled or controlled circulatory death performed in our center between February 2015 and October 2020 and treated with belatacept (n = 31).

Late Relapse after Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation in Patients Treated for Acute Myeloid Leukemia: Relapse Incidence, Characteristics, Role of Conditioning Regimen, and Outcome.

Late relapse, beyond 2 years following alloHSCT for AML, is rare. Among the 376 patients allografted for AML in our center between 1990 and 2016, 142 (38%) relapsed. The majority (68%) of relapses occurred during the first year following transplantation.

Development of a new kappa-carrageenan hydrogel system to study benthic diatom vertical movements.

Benthic diatom vertical movement has been investigated mainly through indirect measurements based on chlorophyll a fluorescence and spectral reflectance signals. The presence of sediment hinders direct imaging and grazers activity renders the work under controlled conditions very difficult. This study provides a tool to study diatoms movement in a 3D hydrogel matrix.

Centriolar satellites are high-order assemblies, scaffolded by the protein PCM1, that gravitate as particles around the centrosome and play pivotal roles in fundamental cellular processes notably ciliogenesis and autophagy. Despite stringent control mechanisms involving phosphorylation and ubiquitination, the landscape of post-translational modifications shaping these structures remains elusive. Here, we report that necrosulfonamide (NSA), a small molecule known for binding and inactivating the pivotal effector of cell death by necroptosis MLKL, intersects with centriolar satellites, ciliogenesis, and autophagy independently of MLKL.

An IL-1β-driven neutrophil-stromal cell axis fosters a BAFF-rich protumor microenvironment in individuals with multiple myeloma.

Human bone marrow permanently harbors high numbers of neutrophils, and a tumor-supportive bias of these cells could significantly impact bone marrow-confined malignancies. In individuals with multiple myeloma, the bone marrow is characterized by inflammatory stromal cells with the potential to influence neutrophils. We investigated myeloma-associated alterations in human marrow neutrophils and the impact of stromal inflammation on neutrophil function.

Prognostic impact of positive microscopic margins (R1 resection) in patients with GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumours): Results of a multicenter European study.

Background: Although several prognostic factors in GIST have been well studied such as tumour size, mitotic rate, or localization, the influence of microscopic margins or R1 resection remains controversial. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of R1 resection on the prognosis of GIST in a large multicentre retrospective series of patients.

Methods: From 2001 to 2013, 1413 patients who underwent surgery for any site of GIST were identified from 61 European centers.
