Coordination polymer based dietary supplement tablets are commonly consumed in our daily life and play an important role in the pharmaceutical industry. To fully understand their tableting process, their mechanical properties need to be comprehensively studied. In this work, the elastic and hydrostatic behaviour of a zinc supplement, zinc glycinate hydrate (Zn[OCCHNH]·HO), have been studied density functional theory (DFT) calculations and high-pressure synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction.

However, Li-CO batteries still suffer from unsatisfactory electrochemical performances and their rechargeability is challenged. Here, it is reported that a composite of Ni nanoparticles highly dispersed on N-doped graphene (Ni-NG) with 3D porous structure, exhibits a superior discharge capacity of 17 625 mA h g, as the air cathode for Li-CO batteries.

Ursolic acid (UA), a pentacyclic terpenoid carboxylic acid widely existing in various medicinal plants, has been reported to have multifarious biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antioxidant activities. In this paper, we analyzed the metabolic profile of UA in mice (including plasma and urine) by using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) coupled with a quadrupole time-of-flight (Q/TOF) method. Principal component analysis (PCA) was applied to differentiate the control and experimental groups.

Jingjinji area occupies important position in developing of the Chinese economy, while there exists a sharp conflict between economic growth and limited water resources in this area. To ensure the safety of water consumption of cities in Jingjinji area, we investigated the abundance of three classes of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in water and sediment of six water supply reservoirs in this area. The results showed that the detection frequency of sul1, tetM and ermB were 100%.

Featured with unique mechanical, electronic and chemical properties, nitrogen-doped carbon materials have become the research hotspot of energy storage. As electrode materials in supercapacitors (SCs), N-doped carbons have demonstrated intriguing flexibility and superb performances in a wide electrochemical window, equipped with versatile properties as both cathodes and anodes for constructing high voltage devices. Compared with limited doping level, N-rich and porous carbon materials (NPCs) are of great desire to release the restricted properties of N species and obtain high specific capacitances (>600 F g), pushing the energy density towards the battery level without scarifying the capacitor-level power ability.
