To evaluate the value of texture analysis based on dynamic contrast enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) in the differential diagnosis of thymic carcinoma and thymic lymphoma. Sixty-nine patients with pathologically confirmed (thymic carcinoma, n = 32; thymic lymphoma, n = 37) were enrolled in this retrospective study. K, K and V maps were automatically generated, and texture features were extracted, including mean, median, 5th/95th percentile, skewness, kurtosis, diff-variance, diff-entropy, contrast and entropy.

Methods: A total of 1069 adult systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients who were hospitalized for the first time in 26 hospitals in Jiangsu Province from 1999 to 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. SLEDAI decrease ≥ 4 during hospitalization was identified as IDA.

Purpose: This study aimed (i) to investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors related to in-hospital mortality in patients with infective endocarditis (IE) and (ii) to compare the differences in three age groups.

Methods: A total of 240 IE cases diagnosed using the modified Duke criteria between January 2016 and December 2019 were included and retrospectively studied. Patients were stratified into three age groups: < 50 y, 50-65 y, and > 65 y.

Clinical and laboratorial outcome of different age-onset systemic lupus erythematosus patients in Jiangsu, China: a multicentre retrospective study.

Studies on clinical features of systemic lupus erythematosus among different age-onset patients are lacking in China. This multicentre study aimed to systemically compare clinical manifestations, comorbidities, organ involvement, and laboratory findings among 797 Chinese juvenile-onset, adult-onset, and late-onset SLE (JSLE, ASLE, and LSLE) patients. They were classified into JSLE, ASLE, and LSLE groups if first diagnosed at < 18, 18-50, and > 50 years old, respectively.

Relationships of Illness Perceptions with Depression and Anxiety in People Who Live with HIV/AIDS in a High-prevalence Ethnic Autonomous Region of Sichuan, China.

Poor mental health challenges outcomes and treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and may be related to illness perceptions. To investigate if depression and anxiety were associated with illness perceptions, we drew a random sample of 729 PLWHA from 13 administrative units in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan, China. Among the PLWHA surveyed, 222 and 175 had probable anxiety or depression.

APRICITY is a multicentre, prospective, double-blind, randomised controlled phase 3 study further evaluating the efficacy and safety of Cevira, an integrated drug-delivery and light-delivery device for hexaminolevulinate photodynamic therapy, which shows promise as a novel, non-invasive outpatient therapy for women with HSIL.

Background: In the era of immunotherapy, autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) in first-line therapy in patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) has been a controversial topic. This report aimed to explore the association between ASCT and MCL survival through a systematic review with meta-analysis.

Methods: We performed a systematic search of original articles published from inception to September 2021 using PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases.

Background: The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in China as assessed using vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE) and its consistency with ultrasound is still unknown. We aimed to conduct a head-to-head comparison of consecutive measurements of NAFLD with ultrasound or VCTE to evaluate the discrepancy in the prevalence and distribution of NAFLD screened by two non-invasive techniques.

Methods: We collected VCTE and ultrasound examination data from 4,388 participants who underwent health check-ups at the Health Promotion Center of Jiangsu Province Hospital between January 2017 and December 2019.

Background: Computed tomography perfusion (CTP) parameters have been shown to have predictive value for functional outcomes of patients with basilar artery occlusion (BAO). We report the predictive value of CTP-based software (CTP-Rapid Processing of Perfusion and Diffusion (RAPID); iSchemia View) for functional outcomes of patients with BAO after endovascular therapy (EVT).

Methods: Patients with BAO who underwent EVT were retrospectively analyzed in our center from December 2019 to July 2021.

Background Strategies to improve long-term prediction of heart failure and death in valvular surgery are urgently needed because of an increasing number of procedures globally. This study sought to report the prevalence, changes, and prognostic implications of concomitant hepatorenal dysfunction and malnutrition in valvular surgery. Methods and Results In 909 patients undergoing valvular surgery, 3 groups were defined based on hepatorenal function (the modified model for end-stage liver disease excluding international normalized ratio score) and nutritional status (Controlling Nutritional Status score): normal hepatorenal function and nutrition (normal), hepatorenal dysfunction or malnutrition alone (mild), and concomitant hepatorenal dysfunction and malnutrition (severe).

Objective: The objective was to comprehensively assess the efficacy and safety of all pharmacological and physical treatments (short-term, ≤ 1 month) for patients with acute Bell's palsy.

Methods: The electronic databases PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and CNKI were searched for the randomized controlled trials comparing two or more regimens in patients with the Bell's palsy to be included in a Bayesian network meta-analysis. Odds ratios and CIs for the primary outcome of the House-Brackmann scale and secondary outcomes of sequelae (synkinesis and crocodile tears) and adverse events were obtained and subgroup analyses of steroids and antivirals were conducted.

Objectives: To investigate the risk profile of preterm birth (PTB) in 2018 in China.

Method: A prospective multicentre case-control study was conducted in 15 hospitals located in seven provinces throughout three geographical areas (the Eastern, South-Central and North-Western regions) in China. A total of 3147 preterm (<37 weeks) and 3147 term (37 to 41 weeks) live-birth mothers were included.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been evaluated in many studies as promising therapeutic agents for pulmonary hypertension (PH). However, low yields and heterogeneity are major barriers in the translational utility of EVs for clinical studies. To address these limitations, we fabricated MSC-derived nanovesicles (MSC-NVs) by serial extrusion through filters, resulting in MSC-NVs with characteristics similar to conventional EVs but with much higher production yields.

A novel fluorescence (FL) imaging platform was established for ultrasensitive and rapid detection of cardiac troponin T (cTnT), based on a high-throughput immunosensor chip and a DNA dendrimer capped with a large number of fluorescent dyes (FDD@Cy5). Through an enzyme-free and step-by-step strategy, FDD@Cy5 was self-assembled facilely. After the formation of a sandwich immunocomplex and biotin-streptavidin conjugation, FDD@Cy5 could be captured on the chip.

A Cartoon Version of Braden Scale to Assess the Risk of Pressure Injury: Content Validity and Interrater Reliability Study.
