Background: Recent studies have reported that diet can modulate the associations between risk factors and childhood metabolic diseases. Herein, this study aims to explore the role of dietary vitamin A (VA) in relation to asthma with hypertension in children and adolescents, and further provide some information on dietary aspect for the prevention of asthma related hypertension.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, data of 9,448 children and adolescents were obtained from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database for the period of 2007 to 2018.

The diagnosis of occult hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection (OBI) is influenced by factors such as the lower limit of detection (LOD) of the HBV DNA test. However, in clinical practice and scientific research, the lower limit of quantification (LOQ) is often misused as the LOD. This study aims to investigate the impact of misuse of the LOD of the HBV DNA test on the detection rate of OBI, as well as the risk factors for OBI.

Article Synopsis
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder in women that leads to menstrual issues, metabolic problems, and infertility, with its underlying causes not fully understood, involving chronic inflammation and insulin resistance.
  • The research explored the role of mA methylation, a type of epigenetic change, in PCOS by analyzing its effect on gene expression in granulosa cells from PCOS patients, focusing on the novel gene CD36.
  • The study found that regulating CD36 through the methyltransferase METTL3 can improve glucose metabolism and reduce inflammation, suggesting that targeting this pathway may be a promising treatment approach for managing PCOS symptoms.
