Objective: To study the therapeutic effect of Lamiophlomis Rotata Capsule (LRC) in the treatment of type ⅢB prostatitis.
Methods: We randomly divided 225 patients with type ⅢB prostatitis into an experimental group (n =125) and a control group (n =120), the former treated orally with LRC at 3 capsules tid while the latter with tamsulosin hydrochloride sustained-release capsules at 0.2 mg qd, both for 4 weeks.

Industrialization and environmental pollution are bringing more problems to human reproduction and increasing the prevalence of male infertility. Western medicine has shown its limitations in the management of male infertility, especially that of oligoasthenospermia. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), however, has long and rich experiences in the treatment of oligoasthenospermia, with a large variety of medicinal prescriptions based on the TCM theories, among which Qilin Pills shows a particularly significant therapeutic effect on oligoasthenospermia, especially when combined with Western medicine.

The transcription factor SOX10, as a major actor in the development of the neural crest, plays a key role in the maintenance of progenitor cell multipotency, lineage specification, and cell differentiation. Abnormalities of neural crest development in humans lead to a number of genetic diseases known as neurocristopathies or neural crest disorders. The mutation of SOX10 can cause Kallmann syndrome (KS), which is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous condition and defined by the association between anosmia and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism due to incomplete migration of neuroendocrine gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) cells along the olfactory, vomeronasal, and terminal nerves.

Objective: To study the protective effect of Qilin Pills (QLP) on the reproductive function of rats with oligoasthenospermia (OAS) induced by tripterygium glycosides.
Methods: Twenty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into a normal control, an OAS model control, a low-dose QLP, and a high-dose QLP group of equal number. OAS models were made in the latter three groups by intragastrical administration of tripterygium glycosides at 40 mg per kg of the body weight per day, and meanwhile the animals in the low- and high-dose QLP groups were treated with QLP at 1.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level and semen parameters.
Methods: We collected the data about 726 outpatients at the Male Infertility Clinic of Jinling Hospital from September 2015 to November 2016, including 72 with non-obstructive azoospermia, 123 with oligospermia, and 531 with normal sperm concentration. We obtained the semen volume, total sperm count, sperm concentration, sperm motility, the percentages of progressively motile sperm (PMS) and morphologically normal sperm (MNS), and the levels of serum AMH, inhibin B (INH-B), total testosterone (TT) and follicle - stimulating hormone (FSH) of the patients, analyzed the correlation of the serum AMH level with the other parameters, and compared the AMH level among different groups.

Objective: To explore the mechanisms of oxidative stress-induced damage to TM4 Sertoli cells in the mouse using metabolomics techniques based on gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
Methods: We established the model of oxidative stress-induced damage to mouse TM4 Sertoli cells by treatment with H₂O₂. Then, we detected the survival rate and apoptosis rate of the TM4 cells by MTT and flow cytometry respectively, measured the concentration of ROS in the TM4 cells with the DCFH-DA fluorescent probe, and determined the levels of endogenous metabolites in the TM4 cells by GC-MS after H₂O₂ intervention.

Objective: To investigate the effects of the compound preparation Jinghuosu on oligospermia and asthenospermia.
Methods: This multi-centered clinical study included 120 cases of mild to moderate idiopathic oligospermia or asthenospermia, all treated with oral Jinghuosu once a bag, bid, for 3 successive months. Before and at 1, 2 and 3 months after treatment, we detected sperm concentration, total sperm motility, progressive sperm motility and normal sperm morphology of each ejaculate, and recorded whether the patients had any adverse reactions.

Purpose: This study was designed to compare the surgical outcomes of a hook plate with double-tunnel coracoclavicular (CC) ligament reconstruction by conjoined tendon transfer versus single hook plate surgery for the repair of acute type of Rockwood type III and V acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocations.
Methods: The study cohort included 62 patients with acute (within 6 weeks after trauma) Rockwood type III and V AC joint dislocations who underwent surgery from February 2012 to September 2015. The patients were randomly allocated to the ligament reconstruction group (LR group, n = 31) or the single hook plate group (HP group, n = 31).

Objective: To explore the expression of miR-132 in prostate cancer and its effects on the growth and invasiveness of prostate cancer cells and the influence of hypoxia on the level of miR-132 and biological behavior of prostate cancer cells.
Methods: Real time PCR was used to measure the expression level of miR-132 in the prostate cancer tissue, analyze its relationship with the clinical stage and Gleason score of prostate cancer, and determine the influence of hypoxia on the miR-132 level in the human prostate cancer PC3 cell line in vitro. Sulfor-hodamine B chromatometry and Matrigel invasion assay were employed to detect the effects of hypoxia and miR-132 mimic plasmid transfection on the viability and invasiveness of PC3 cells in vitro.
