Hildebrand ( ) and Hansen ( , , ) solubility parameters are important indexes to predict the compatibility of components intuitively. Currently, almost all the experiments only measured the solubility parameters of the pristine graphene. Therefore, there is a lack of quantitative relationship between the surface chemistry of graphene and solubility parameters, resulting in no theoretical guidance for the surface modification of graphene.

This study is centered on the oxidative transformation of alcohols into their respective aldehyde compounds, employing an S-scheme heterostructure featuring CuO/CuO on graphene-like carbon (GLC) derived from a basil seed hydrogel. Experimental characterization and theoretical calculations highlight that the implementation of S-scheme heterostructures achieves not only enhanced charge-separation efficiency, facilitated by the interfacial built-in electric field, Cu co-sharing at the CuO/CuO interface, and electron carrier activity of the GLC support, but also maintains a strong driving force for photocatalytic organic conversion. The resulting nanocomposites play a crucial role in transferring and reducing the recombination of photoexcited charge carriers, preserving the oxidizability of CuO holes and the reducibility of CuO electrons.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are considered one of the most promising biomass pretreatment reagents, and their research applications in woody fibrous biomass are increasing yearly. Inspired by the research related to wood bending, we explored the effects of different DES systems on the bending development of wood, and the results showed that the addition of anhydrous ferric trichloride to the DES system of lactic acid/choline chloride could enhance the treatment effect that increased the bendability and torsion resistance of ash wood. The anhydrous FeCl could act as an active site and provide acidic protons to improve the treatment efficiency of DES.

The broad use of propargyl amines and tetrazoles in pharmaceutical applications presents a well-established challenge. Their synthesis relies heavily on catalysis, which, in turn, has been hindered by the scarcity of stable and practical catalysts. In response to this issue, we have developed an environmentally friendly and sustainable catalyst by infusing copper hydroxide into basil seed hydrogel (Cu(OH)-BSH), creating a 3D nanoreactor support structure.

The dyeing properties of twisted bamboo fiber bundles were studied by using the combination of three primary colors in M-type reactive dyes. The study found that the three dyes of red, yellow and blue have good color rendering in the actual dyeing process, and because the molecular structures of the three are similar, the chemical reactions during the fixation are the same, so the final dyeing rate results are similar, which were 29-32%. Compared with the undyed twisted bamboo fiber bundle, the mechanical properties of the three-color twisted bamboo fiber bundle also changed significantly, and the tensile strength increased by 13.

Lignocellulosic biomass raw materials are renewable resources with abundant reserves in nature, and have many advantages, such as being green, biodegradable and cheap. Lignin, one of the three significant components of lignocellulose, possesses a chemical structure rich in phenylpropane and is a primary aromatic resource for the bio-based economy. For the extraction and degradation of lignin, the most common method is the pretreatment of lignocellulose with deep eutectic solvents (DES), which have similar physicochemical properties to ionic liquids (ILs) but address the disadvantages associated with ILs (DES have the advantages of low cost, low toxicity, and non-flammability).

Premise: Although several software packages are available for genotyping insertion/deletion (indel) polymorphisms in genomes using next-generation sequencing data, simultaneously calling indel genotypes across many individuals for use in genetic mapping remains challenging.
Methods And Results: We present an integrated pipeline, InDelGT, for the extraction of indel genotypes from a segregating population such as backcross or F lines, or from an F cross between outbred species. The InDelGT algorithm is implemented in three steps: generating an indel catalog, calling indel genotypes, and analyzing indel segregation.

By performing first-principles calculations, a MoS monolayer with a Co atom doped at the sulfur defect (Co-MoS) was investigated as a single-atom catalyst (SAC) for CO oxidation. The Co atom is strongly constrained at the S-vacancy site of MoS without forming clusters by showing a high diffusion energy barrier, ensuring good stability to catalyze CO oxidation. The CO and O adsorption behavior on Co-MoS surface and four reaction pathways, namely, the Eley-Rideal (ER), Langmuir-Hinshelwood (LH), trimolecular Eley-Rideal (TER) as well as the New Eley-Rideal (NER) mechanisms are studied to understand the catalytic activity of Co-MoS for CO oxidation.
