Article Synopsis
  • - The study compares the effectiveness of 120 W HPS and 180 W XPS GreenLight laser systems for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), revealing that the 180 W system has better operational efficiency and shorter catheterization times.
  • - Eight studies were analyzed, showing that while both systems had similar functional outcomes regarding prostate symptoms and urinary flow, the 180 W system resulted in improved quality of life and lower rates of complications.
  • - The findings suggest that the 180 W XPS laser is a more efficient and safer option for treating BPH, especially in larger prostates, and encourages further randomized trials to verify these results and investigate long-term effects.

Introduction: This research aimed to investigate the pathophysiological mechanism of how drug-induced parkinsonism (DIP) affects the integrity of the white matter (WM) fiber microstructure as measured by magnetic resonance diffusion tensor image (DTI) fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD).

Methods: We recruited 17 participants diagnosed with DIP, 20 Parkinson's disease (PD) patients, and 16 normal controls (NCs) with a similar age, gender, and years of education. Subsequently, all participants underwent DTI magnetic resonance imaging scanning.

Purpose: The K-FRAIL scale is a Korean version of the aging questionnaire that allows screening and diagnosis of easily observable aging in the elderly through a simple self-answer questionnaire. The objective of this study was to examine the relation between fraility and clinical symptoms of the lower urinary tract in elderly men using the K-FRAIL scale.

Materials And Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 100 patients who underwent urological examination at our hospital from January 2021 to December 2021.

Ultrasound in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Biomechanics Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province, Sichuan Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Disease, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, 610072, China.

Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is widely recognized as one of the principal modalities for diagnosing tricuspid regurgitation (TR). The diagnostic procedures associated with conventional methods are intricate and labor-intensive, with human errors leading to measurement variability, with outcomes critically dependent on the operators' diagnostic expertise. In this study, we present an innovative assessment methodology for evaluating TR severity utilizing an end-to-end deep learning system.

Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, and patients are often diagnosed at an advanced stage, posing a substantial risk to human health, so it is crucial to establish a model to forecast the prognosis of patients with lung cancer. Recent research has indicated that proteasome 20S subunit 6 (PSMB6) may be closely associated with anti-apoptotic pathways, and proliferation transduction signals in tumor cells of different tumors. However, the precise role of PSMB6 in the immunoregulatory processes within lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is yet to be elucidated.

  • IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is a common kidney disease that varies greatly among patients, prompting researchers to investigate short-term prognosis and identify risk factors for disease progression.
  • A study analyzed patient data from two centers using logistic regression to create a nomogram model that predicts the likelihood of chronic kidney disease (CKD) worsening, based on factors such as body mass index and protein excretion levels.
  • The nomogram showed good predictive accuracy in both internal and external tests, indicating its potential as a useful tool for personalized treatment and intervention strategies in IgAN patients.

Infertility is closely related to obesity. Relative fat mass (RFM) is a newer index for assessing percentage of body fat, which reflects the amount of body fat better than body mass index (BMI), but its relationship with infertility needs further study. The purpose of this study was to assess whether there was an association between RFM and infertility in women aged 20 to 44 years in the United States.

Background: Iatrogenic bile duct injuries (BDIs) prevention during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) relies on meticulous anatomical dissections through direct visualization. Near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) with indocyanine green (ICG) improves the visualization of extrahepatic biliary structures. Although ICG can be administered either intravenously or intragallbladder, there remains uncertainty regarding the optimal method for different patient populations.
