Background: Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), a hallmark of cancer, is related to prognosis, tumor progression, and treatment response. Nevertheless, the correlation of ROS-based molecular signature with clinical outcome and immune cell infiltration has not been thoroughly studied in bladder cancer (BLCA). Accordingly, we aimed to thoroughly examine the role and prognostic value of ROS-related genes in BLCA.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cancer characterized by robustly proliferative and metastatic capabilities. Bromodomain-containing proteins are critical to the development of diverse diseases via regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and death. However, the role of Bromodomain-containing protein 3 (BRD3) in HCC is elusive.

Neuronal radial migration is a fundamental process for cortical development, the disruption of which causes neurological and psychiatric dysfunctions. SLIT2 plays diverse functions in brain development and is a well-known axon guidance molecule. In this study, we investigated the radial migration of projection neurons in the developing cerebral cortex by knockdown (KD) of in mice.

Background/aim: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a serious condition that predominantly affects premature infants and involves an aberrant immune response and inflammatory cytokine release resulting in intestinal epithelial damage. The current study investigated the immunoregulatory effects of vitamin D on the maturation and activation of dendritic cells (DCs) and the antiinflammatory impact on the intestines in a neonatal rat model of NEC.Materials and methods: Inflammatory damage to intestinal tissue was assessed via morphological changes and apoptosis and DC expression of costimulatory molecules, inflammatory factors, and immunoregulatory factors by immunohistochemical staining, quantitative real-time PCR, and immunofluorescence.

Introduction: To explore the construction of a diagnostic prediction model of diabetic nephropathy (DN) in type 2 diabetic patients for prognostic risk prediction and observe the therapeutic effect of Epalrestat combined with Dapagliflozin on DN.
Methods: The study consisted of two phases, phase I: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the case information and clinical treatment related data of a total of 460 patients who underwent kidney biopsy from June 2018 to June 2021. They were randomly divided into validation queue and training queue.

This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the association between dietary mineral intake and the risk of bladder cancer. Relevant studies on bladder cancer and dietary mineral intake, including sodium, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc, were systematically identified through searches in Scopus and PubMed up to July 2024. Data from 12 studies were pooled using odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) with a random-effects model.

Breast cancer in the elderly presents distinct biological characteristics and clinical treatment responses compared with cancer in younger patients. Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment is recommended for evaluating treatment efficacy in elderly cancer patients based on physiological classification. However, research on molecular classification in older cancer patients remains insufficient.

Breast cancer (BC) is a prevalent malignancy globally. Autophagy plays a pivotal role in all stages of this disease, including development, metastasis, and onset. Therefore, it is envisaged that targeting cell autophagy through appropriate tactics would evolve into a novel breast cancer prevention and therapy strategy.

Purpose: To explore the influencing factors of syncope in patients after plastic surgery, establish a syncope risk prediction model, and verify its accuracy.
Methods: A total of 265 patients undergoing craniomaxillofacial surgery were included and divided into a syncope group and non-syncope group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to screen for risk factors of syncope, and R language was used to establish a risk prediction nomogram of syncope in craniomaxillofacial surgery patients.

Objective: Acute pericoronitis (AP) is a prevalent cause of odontogenic toothache which can significantly impact brain function. Previous research has predominantly concentrated on localized brain activity. However, the synergistic changes between brain hemispheres induced by toothache and resulting abnormal functional connectivity across the brain have not been comprehensively studied.

Background: To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Kirschner wires (KWs) as a blocking screw technique for extra-articular fractures of the distal tibia treated with intramedullary nails (IMNs).
Methods: Fifty-three patients were treated with KW-assisted IMN for extra-articular fractures of the distal tibia via the blocking screw technique or Poller screw (PS) technique. The operation time, number of fluoroscopies, number of blocking screws used, blood loss and time to union were compared between the two groups.

HER2-positive breast cancer is one of the most prevalent subtypes of breast cancer and represents a significant health concern for women worldwide due to its high morbidity and mortality rates. Recent studies have consistently underscored the pivotal role of angiogenesis in the development and progression of HER2-positive breast cancer. Here, we developed a prognostic signature based on angiogenesis-related genes (ARGs) to categorize HER2-positive breast cancer patients and provide insights into their survival outcomes.

Background: There are many problems of psychological burden in patients with tumor implanted in port of intravenous infusion. However, more attention is paid to its complications in the literature, and psychological problems are seldom concerned. The purpose of this study was to explore the psychological state and needs of tumor patients after implantation of an intravenous infusion port and provide valuable references for psychological interventions.

Background: Simultaneous integrated boost intensity-modulated radiotherapy (SIB-IMRT) is an innovative technique delivering a higher dose to the tumor bed while irradiating the entire breast. This study aims to assess the clinical outcomes, adverse effects, and cosmetic results of SIB-IMRT following breast-conserving surgery in breast cancer patients.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 308 patients with stage 0-III breast cancer who underwent breast-conserving surgery and SIB-IMRT from January 2016 to December 2020.

Background: Adenosine A receptor (AR) exerts analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-nociceptive effects. In this study, we determined the analgesic mechanism of manual acupuncture (MA) in rats with complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis and explored whether MA ameliorates inflammation in these rats by upregulating AR.
Methods: Sixty Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into the following groups: Control, CFA, CFA + MA, CFA + sham MA, CFA + MA + DMSO, CFA + MA + IB-MECA, and CFA + MA + Reversine groups.

Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is one of the subtype of gastric cancer with high invasiveness, extreme heterogeneity, high morbidity, and high mortality. The degradome is the most abundant class of cellular enzymes that play an essential role in regulating cellular activity and carcinogenesis. An integrative machine learning procedure including 10 methods was performed to develop a prognostic degradome-based prognostic signature (DPS) in TCGA, GSE15459, GSE26253, and GSE62254 datasets.
