Safety outcomes of ticagrelor among patients with STE-ACS post streptokinase therapy-a retrospective observational study.

From the restriction of access to primary percutaneous coronary intervention, about 46% of patients with ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (STE-ACS) received fibrinolytic therapy as a reperfusion strategy; streptokinase is frequently used in Thailand. Despite the guidelines recommending potent P2Y12 inhibitors among these patients, the data are limited, especially among patients with STE-ACS post streptokinase therapy. The study was proposed to describe factors for P2Y12 inhibitors selection and evaluate outcomes of pharmacoinvasively treated STE-ACS receiving ticagrelor compared with clopidogrel in Thailand.

Background: Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are widely recognized as valuable predictors of clinical outcomes in peritoneal dialysis (PD). Our study aimed to explore the connections between patient-reported constipation and clinical outcomes.

Methods: We assessed constipation in patients across 22 facilities participating in the Thailand Peritoneal Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (PDOPPS) from 2014 to 2017.

Background: Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is one of the most commonly found nosocomial infections in critically ill patients. However, the appropriate treatment period for a specific group of critically ill patients with CRAB infection is currently being debated. Therefore, our study aimed to evaluate the optimal courses of therapy for critically ill patients with CRAB infection by comparing the outcomes of colistin therapy of short duration (<14 days) versus long duration (≥ 14 days).

Anatomic Study of the Motor Branch of the Ulnar Nerve Regarding Carpal Tunnel Surgery: A Cadaveric Study.

Motor branch of the ulnar nerve (MUN) injury during carpal tunnel surgery is rare and it should never be injured during carpal tunnel release (CTR). However, an iatrogenic injury of the MUN can cause catastrophic physical and mental suffering. The aim of our study is to understand the anatomy of the MUN in relation to carpal tunnel in order to prevent iatrogenic injury during CTR.

Objective: Universal health coverage can decrease the magnitude of the individual patient's financial burden of chronic kidney disease (CKD), but the residual financial hardship from the patients' perspective has not been well-studied in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). This study aimed to evaluate the residual financial burden in patients with CKD stage 3 to dialysis in the "PD First Policy" under Universal Coverage Scheme (UCS) in Thailand.

Background: Due to the possibility of asymptomatic pneumonia in children with COVID-19 leading to overexposure to radiation and problems in limited-resource settings, we conducted a nationwide, multi-center study to determine the risk factors of pneumonia in children with COVID-19 in order to create a pediatric pneumonia predictive score, with score validation.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study done by chart review of all children aged 0-15 years admitted to 13 medical centers across Thailand during the study period. Univariate and multivariate analyses as well as backward and forward stepwise logistic regression were used to generate a final prediction model of the pneumonia score.

Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy Based on Non-ICGA Criteria in White Patients With Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

Purpose: To determine prevalence of probable polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) among White patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) using non-indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) criteria DESIGN: Multicenter, multinational, retrospective, cross-sectional study.

Methods: A total of 208 treatment-naive eyes from Hispanic and non-Hispanic White individuals diagnosed with nAMD were included. All underwent color fundus photography (CFP), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and fluorescein angiography (FFA).

Prenatal Sonographic Features of Ring Chromosome 15: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Ring chromosome 15, a rare genetic disease, is very rarely prenatally diagnosed. We present a unique case of fetal ring chromosome 15 with ultrasound findings at 32 weeks of gestation including congenital diaphragmatic hernia, hypoplasia of the aorta with persistent left SVC, growth restriction, clubfeet and scoliosis. We also performed an analytical literature review of prenatal sonographic findings of the disease.

Spatial Estimation of PM Exposure and its Association with Asthma Exacerbation: A Prospective Study in Thai Children.

Background: The acceptable fine particulate matter (PM) level in Thailand is double the recommendation of the World Health Organization. It is necessary to have an accurate measure of PM exposure and its association with health problems in vulnerable groups such as asthma exacerbation in Thai children to urge the Clean Air Act in Thailand, which is currently in the process of revision.

Objective: To study the association between PM exposure and asthma exacerbation in children living in Bangkok Metropolitan Region and Chiang Mai Province.
