Schaumann bodies are the inclusion bodies usually seen in sarcoidosis, but can also be found in other conditions like tuberculosis, chronic beryllium diseases and Crohn's diseases. Histopathologically, these bodies appear as round to oval shell-like basophilic calcifications usually considered to be as a residuum of lysosomal organelles activity.

Background: Eighty-five percent of infants with congenital nephrotic syndrome (CNS) and 66% with infantile NS (INS) are likely to have a monogenic etiology. There exists a significant genetic variability between different regions and ethnic groups. Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma with sarcomatoid features is an extremely rare histological variant of squamous cell carcinoma with co-existence of both epithelial and mesenchymal features. A 70-year-old woman presented with genital lesions for 4 months with associated burning and pain. Examination revealed well-defined bilaterally symmetrical hyperpigmented plaques on labia majora, fleshy erythematous growth on labia minora.

Assessment of Genotoxic Biomarker in Tongue and Buccal Mucosal Epithelial Cells of COVID-19 Patients: An Observational Study.

Introduction: Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is the main host cell receptor for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and is highly expressed in the tongue and buccal mucosa. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate genotoxic changes in epithelial cells of the buccal and tongue mucosa following COVID-19 infection.

Materials And Methods: This study included 40 patients aged 25-40 years, divided into two groups: Group 1 (control group) included 20 healthy individuals with no prior history of COVID-19 infection subdivided into Group 1a (buccal mucosa), and Group 1b (tongue mucosa); Group 2 (case group) included 20 patients with a history of mild to moderate COVID-19 infection subdivided into Group 2a (buccal mucosa) and Group 2b (tongue mucosa).

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is now recognised as a global disease, with incidence rapidly increasing in newly industrialised countries in South America, Asia, and Africa. Trials in IBD, therefore, should adequately represent diverse groups with respect to gender, age, place of residence, race, and ethnicity to ensure the global applicability and generalisability of their findings. In this systematic review, we searched PubMed and Embase for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) published in English from Jan 1, 1995, to Jan 13, 2023, evaluating the efficacy of any pharmacological intervention in patients with IBD.

Comparative Evaluation of Efficacy of Ketoprofen and Diclofenac Transdermal Patches with Oral Diclofenac Tablet on Postoperative Endodontic Pain- A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Purpose: Evaluate the efficacy of transdermal patches containing ketoprofen and diclofenac sodium compared to oral diclofenac tablets in reducing post-endodontic pain after single-visit root canal therapy for teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.

Methods: A total of 78 eligible participants with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and preoperative VAS scores of 4 or above were enrolled after obtaining ethical approval (SVIEC/ON/DENT/SRP/22064) and CTRI registration (CTRI/2022/07/044231). Exclusion criteria included pregnancy, lactation, fractured/cracked teeth, developmental anomalies, tooth pathology, or ongoing analgesic/NSAID use.

Adaptive instrumentation of root canals in primary teeth using XP-endo shaper: a case series.

Dental caries is indeed the biggest cause of tooth loss, particularly in the primary dentition. In primary teeth with carious pulp involvements, endodontic intervention in the form of pulpotomy (removal of only the coronal pulp) or pulpectomy (removal of coronal and radicular pulp) is advocated. Pulpectomy can be laborious and time-consuming, especially when using traditional hand endodontic files to shape root canals.

Parapharyngeal space carcinoma disguised as temporomandibular joint disorder: A clinical report.

Parapharyngeal space neoplasms tend to have a considerable volume by the time of diagnosis because of their deep location in the neck and may have a relatively long progression before becoming symptomatic. Common presenting signs and symptoms of parapharyngeal space neoplasms include swelling in the neck, intraoral mass, dysphagia, dysphonia, heaviness in the ear, otalgia, and rarely, trismus. Some of these signs and symptoms could be mistaken for signs of temporomandibular disorder (TMD).
