Efficacy of betamethasone, hyaluronidase and its combination on mouth opening, burning sensation and QOL in patients with OSF.

Objectives: To assess the efficacy of betamethasone, hyaluronidase and its combination on mouth opening, burning sensation and quality of life (QOL) in patients with oral submucous fibrosis.

Study Design: Sixty patients were divided in 4 groups; group A received 8 mg of betamethasone, group B received 3000 IU of hyaluronidase, group C received the combination of betamethasone and hyaluronidase and group D received saline injections biweekly for 5 weeks. Comparative Evaluation of Three Abutment-Implant Interfaces on Stress Distribution in and Around Different Implant Systems: A Finite Element Analysis.

Aim: This study was conducted to compare and evaluate the effect of three abutment-implant connections on stress distribution around three different implants under similar material properties and loading condition using finite element analysis (FEA).

Materials And Methods: Three different types of implant-abutment connections were selected. The features of these connections are Sample A: Tri-channel internal connection (Nobel Biocare); Sample B: Internal conical-hex Morse Taper (ADIN); and Sample C: Internal octa-Morse taper method (Osstem).

Influence of platelet-rich fibrin on wound healing and bone regeneration after tooth extraction: A clinical and radiographic study.

Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of autologous platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on soft tissue healing and bone regeneration following tooth extraction clinically and radio-graphically.

Materials And Methods: 30 Patients between the age group of 18-40 years requiring extraction of bilateral mandibular molars except third molars were selected to conduct a split-mouth study after ethical approval. Teeth extraction was done on both sides in the same appointment.

Imaging Analysis of Onodi Cells on Cone-Beam Computed Tomography.

 Onodi cells are the most posterior ethmoid air cells, and extend superolaterally to the sphenoid sinus. The identification of Onodi cells is essential to because they can have some significant anatomic variations and relationships to vital adjacent structures, like the optic canal, the sphenoid sinus, and the internal carotid artery.  The present study aimed to assess the prevalence of Onodi cells and their position with respect to sphenoid sinus.

A Rare Anatomical Variation in the Origin of the Tendon of Long Head of Biceps in a 30-Year-Old Male: A Case Report and Review of Literature.

Introduction: Early studies on human embryology reveal a migration of the tendon of long head of biceps from the synovium and fibrous capsule to an intra-articular position [1, 2, 3]. Any hindrance in the normal course of events of development, pathological or otherwise, may result in variations from the normal anatomy.

Case Report: Here, we discuss a case of a rare anatomical variant of the origin of long head of biceps tendon discovered incidentally in a 30-year-old manual laborer.

Clinical, radiological and functional results of transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion in degenerative spondylolisthesis.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical, functional and radiographic outcomes of transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) in degenerative low-grade spondylolisthesis.

Materials And Methods: A prospective observational study of 120 consecutive patients (M: = 24:96) with spondylolisthesis operated with TLIF. Clinical and functional outcome was assessed on Visual analogue Scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI).

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the immunohistochemical expression of OCT-4 and SOX-2 and to determine their use in differentiating giant cell tumor (GCT) from central giant cell granuloma (CGCG) and peripheral giant cell granuloma (PGCG).

Study Design: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue blocks of 10 histopathologically diagnosed cases of GCT, CGCG, or PGCG were examined for anti-OCT-4 and anti-SOX-2 antibodies. Nuclear staining of stromal mononuclear cells and multinucleated giant cells was considered positive for OCT-4 and SOX-2 expression.

Purpose: To evaluate a novel effective procedure utilizing three-column reconstruction via a posterior approach with a technique that utilizes an arthroscope to visualize the anterior surface of the dura during decompression.

Methods: A Prospective Study. 80 Osteoporotic vertebral burst fracture patients with similar demographic data managed by three-column reconstruction through single posterior approach surgery: Pedicle screw fixation, Corpectomy, Arthroscope Assisted Transpedicular Decompression (AATD) and Fusion (Mesh Cage + Bone grafting).
