Efficacy of a novel augmentative and alternative communication system in promoting requesting skills in young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in India: A pilot study.

The study assessed the efficacy of a novel, child-friendly, socio-culturally sensitive, icon-based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system called Jellow Communicator, in teaching requesting skills to young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a special school in Mumbai, India. Jellow is a comprehensive AAC system with a lexicon and pictorial library designed using a participatory, user-centric design process. The content of Jellow has been developed bearing in mind the socio-cultural and linguistic diversity of India.

The Contour device has been designed to offer a variety of advantages over existing endovascular treatment options for wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms. Ventricular Septal Rupture Following Acute Myocardial Infarction.

ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a known medical exigency that has seen considerable advances in medical treatment, dramatically boosting survival rates. Post myocardial infarction ventricular rupture is a major serious mechanical complication following myocardial infarction. We present a case of a 68-year-old male admitted to the emergency department with heaviness in the chest, for which electrocardiography was done and it was suggestive of anterior and lateral wall myocardial infarction.

A Rare Case of Multidrug-Resistant Lupus Vulgaris with a Mixed Pattern of Resistance - A Long Journey to Diagnosis and Treatment.

An 18-year-old male presented with a single round to oval well-defined irregular erythematous plaque 10 cm × 6 cm, with a verrucous surface, central atrophy, and crusting at the periphery on the right knee of one-year duration. The patient had received ATT (anti-tubercular treatment) twice in the past without any improvement. MGIT (mycobacteria growth indicator tube) and CBNAAT (Cartridge-based nucleic acid amplification test) were performed, and drug sensitivity testing was done, which led to a diagnosis of multidrug resistance (MDR) with a mixed pattern.

Therapeutic drug monitoring of levetiracetam: Method validation using high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detector technique and usefulness in patient care setting.

Objectives: To develop and validate a modified HPLC-UV method for the estimation of serum levetiracetam levels and to assess the usefulness of serum levetiracetam estimation in epileptic patients.

Materials And Methods: Modification of a previously existing HPLC-UV method was performed using liquid- liquid phase extraction and processing using reverse phase analytic HPLC-UV detector technique followed by method validation. Serum samples of patients attending our hospital's Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Outpatient Department services were analyzed for levetiracetam levels using the study method.

ST-Segment Elevation in Lead aVR With Global ST-Segment Depression: Never Neglect Left Main Coronary Artery (LMCA) Occlusion.

An electrocardiographic pattern consisting of elevated ST segment in lead aVR with global ST-segment depression in multi-leads indicates circumferential subendocardial ischaemia due to mismatch of oxygen supply and demand. We describe a patient who presented to us with complaint of chest pain and had ST-segment elevation in lead aVR and global ST-segment depression in multi-leads and was suspected to have occlusion in left anterior descending artery.
