In the past decade, plant sterols gained more attention due to their significant therapeutic activity, but their poor solubility and low bioavailability limited their use. Here, we developed and optimized phospholipon® 90H modulated phospholipid (PmP) complex of ethanolic extract of Lagenaria siceraria (EELs) by solvent evaporation using Box-Behnken Design. The optimized PmP complex was then evaluated physico-chemically and functionally by particle size and zeta potential, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and apparent solubility studies.

Introduction: Pain is an immunological response to an infection or inflammation and long-term use of pain management therapy includes the use of Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which is associated with the occurrence of toxicity as well as gastrointestinal bleeding. Therefore, the investigation of new analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents remains a major challenge.
Aims: The objective of this research study is to undergo the pharmacological evaluation of newly synthesized benzoxazole derivatives.

Lactobacillus has long been considered the protective flora in the vagina that displaces and kills vaginal pathogens. Lactic acid, H2O2, and antibacterial agents such as lactocin and bacitracin produced by Lactobacillus act against the vaginal pathogens. The first objective of this research was to develop a local application pharmaceutical formulation of a vaginal suppository containing lyophilized culture of Lactobacillus.

Ten new derivatives of 1-benzothiazol-2-yl-3-chloro-4-substituted-azetidin-2-ones (3a-j) were synthesized using various Schiff bases (alkyl/arylidene-2-aminobenzothiazoles; 2a-j), which in turn were prepared starting from 2-aminobenzothiazole (1). All the synthesised compounds were characterised by elemental analyses and spectral (IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and EI-MS) data. The title compounds 2a-j and 3a-j were screened in vivo using carrageenan-induced rat paw edema model.

The National Institute of Mental Health Epidemiologic Catchment Area (ECA) study, an extensive community survey, reported that the 6-month prevalence rates for mood disorders were 6% (the lifetime rate was 8.3%) while only 31% of depressed adults sought treatment. The reluctance of patients for treatment of depression can be attributed to some extent to the negativity associated with it at social level.
