Purpose: It has been suggested that the cause of the balance disorder seen in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) originates from the central nervous system. However, the extent of the balance problem and the dysfunction of which part of the central nervous system has not been investigated in detail. This study aimed to correlate the values obtained by balance analysis and cerebellum volume measurement in female individuals with AIS with healthy individuals.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of various whitening agents on the surface roughness and optical characteristics of different types of resin composite restorations. Fifty specimens were prepared for each resin [G-aenial Posterior (GP), SonicFill-2 (SF), Solidex (SDX), and Nova Compo HF (NC)]. Following baseline color and surface roughness (Ra) measurements, the specimens were randomly divided into 5 groups (n = 10/group) according to whitening concepts: control (distilled water), in-office bleaching [OB-(Opalescence Boost)], at-home bleaching [HB-(Opalescence PF)], whitening toothpaste [WT-(Signal White Now)], and whitening mouthwash [WM-(Listerine Advanced White)].

The inferior alveolar nerve can be damaged during dental procedures, leading to symptoms, such as tingling, numbness, and reduced quality of life. Recovery depends on factors such as medications, surgery, and photobiomodulation therapy. Photobiomodulation therapy has shown the potential to improve nerve function and reduce regeneration time; however, there is no standard treatment protocol yet.

Aim: The attachment matrix housing (AMH) of implant overdentures is not chemically bonded with acrylic resins. Therefore, AMH may lose due to insertion and removal forces. This study aims to investigate the effects of different surface treatments to reduce the detachment of AMH and to compare the adhesion of the AMH used in implant-supported overdentures made of different materials with the reline acrylic resin.

This study was purposed to assess the impact of ageing and resin cements polymerized with different modes on the removal time of lithium disilicate (LiSi) ceramics using Er,Cr:YSGG laser. Ninety LiSi slabs (6 × 6 × 1 mm) were cemented to freshly extracted bovine teeth using cements polymerized with different modes (light-curing (LC), dual-curing (DC), self-curing (SC)). The specimens were divided into subgroups according to ageing conditions (no thermal cycling, 5000 or 30,000 thermal cycling).

The rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2, the pathogen of the Covid-19 pandemic, is obviously of great importance for stopping the spread of the virus by detecting infected individuals. Here, we report the ab initio analysis results of graphene nanoribbon (GNR) and carbon nanotube (CNT) based SARS-CoV-2 detection sensors which are experimentally demonstrated in the literature. The investigated structures are the realistic molecular models of the sensors that are employing 1-pyrenebutyric acid -hydroxysuccinimide ester as the antibody linker.

The receptor binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2 binds to human ACE2 leading to infection. In this study, the complexes that are formed by the attachment of the SARS-CoV-2 spike RBDs of the original strain, delta and omicron variants to the human ACE2 are investigated via density functional theory (DFT) simulations to obtain binding energies. The DFT computations are performed without fragmenting the interfaces to involve longer-range interactions for improved accuracy, which is one of the primary features of the approach used in this study.
