Introduction: Nutritional status has been increasingly recognized as an important predictor of prognosis and surgical outcomes for cancer patients. We evaluated the effect of preoperative malnutrition on the development of surgical complications and mortality after radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC).
Materials And Methods: Using data from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, we evaluated the association of poor nutritional status with 30-day postoperative complications and overall mortality after RNU from 2005 to 2015.

Background: The American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classification system, modified Charlson Comorbidity Index (mCCI), and modified Frailty Index have been associated with complications after urologic surgery. No study has compared the predictive performance of these indexes for postoperative complications after radical cystectomy (RC) for bladder cancer.
Materials And Methods: Data from 1516 patients undergoing elective RC for bladder cancer were extracted from the 2005 to 2011 American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program for a retrospective review.

Leveraging pharmacy personnel resources for the purpose of antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) operations presents a challenging task. We describe our experience integrating all pharmacists into an ASP, and evaluate the impact on ASP interventions, antimicrobial utilization, rate of selected hospital-onset infections and readmission. During a study period (January 1 to December 31, 2015), a total of 14 552 ASP-related pharmacy interventions were performed (ASP clinical pharmacotherapy specialists [CPS] n = 4025; non-ASP CPS n = 4888; hospital pharmacists n = 5639).

In transgender surgery, the ideal neophallus is one that: (a) is constructed using a reproducible procedure, (b) possesses tactile and erogenous sensation, (c) is large and rigid enough (naturally, or using a prosthesis) to permit penetrative intercourse, (d) leaves acceptable donor site morbidity, (e) results in esthetically satisfactory appearance, and (f) allows for voiding while standing. The musculocutaneous latissimus dorsi (MLD) flap has favorable results in the area of neophalloplasty. Among its advantages are acceptable donor site appearance, stiffness sufficient for intercourse, and esthetically satisfactory genital appearance.

Context: Mindfulness practices in the workplace have experienced rapid growth, with initial evidence suggesting positive outcomes. Even so, little is known about implementing mindfulness-based interventions (MBI), especially internally driven programs led by volunteers rather than experts.
