Primary cutaneous aspergillosis due to Aspergillus tamarii in an immunocompetent host.

Primary cutaneous aspergillosis is a rare disease usually caused by Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus terreus and Aspergillus ustus. It is usually seen in immunocompromised hosts, though some cases are also reported in immunocompetent hosts. We present a case of an immunocompetent farmer who presented with generalised nodules and plaques, mimicking erythema nodosum leprosum but turned out to be cutaneous aspergillosis caused by Aspergillus tamarii.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis associated Evans syndrome: A rare case report on the clustered autoimmune disease triad.

Evans syndrome is a rare combination of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and immune thrombocytopenia. Their association with autoimmune thyroid diseases has been reported by few authors; however, a sequential development of the Evans syndrome in cases of Hashimoto's thyroiditis is extremely rare. The clustering of these autoimmune diseases might share a common pathogenic pathway.

Encephalocraniocutaneous Lipomatosis (Haberl and syndrome): A case report and review of literature.

Introduction: A suprascapular nerve entrapment can occur at the suprascapular notch or at the spinoglenoid notch. So, the size and shape of the suprascapular notch are associated with suprascapular entrapment neuropathy as well as with an injury to the suprascapular nerve in arthroscopic procedures. The knowledge on the variations along the course of the nerve is important in understanding the source of the entrapment syndrome.

Aims: To evaluate and compare the analgesic efficacy and adverse effects of tramadol and meperidine in labor.

Subjects And Methods: One hundred sixty-three of the 213 parturients at term in active labor were randomly assigned to one of three groups to receive intramuscularly either tramadol 50 mg (N = 54), tramadol 100 mg (N = 55) or meperidine 75 mg (N = 54). Single person who was not aware of the given drug (NS) assessed analgesic effect using visual analogue scale (VAS).

Hydatid disease of the lung presenting with hemoptysis and simulating a lung abscess.

Hydatidosis is one of the most important zoonotic diseases in the world. In this report, we describe a 25-year-old patient from Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh who presented with cough, chest pain, dyspnoea, and hemoptysis due to hydatid disease of the lung. Although it is one of the less common causes of hemoptysis, hydatid disease of the lung requires greater attention in countries such as India, where hydatid cyst disease is common.

Cor triloculare biventriculare is a rare congenital malformation of the heart in which there is a complete absence of the atrial septum. It is usually associated with other anomalies like complete atrioventricular canal defect, polysplenic syndrome, isolated dextrocardia, Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, or persistent left superior vena cava. We report a case of a stillborn male foetus of 35 weeks gestation with common atrium, complete atrioventricular canal defect, and persistent left superior vena cava.

We report a case of left sided aortic arch with three branches - a bi-carotid trunk, left subclavian, artery and right subclavian artery. The anomalous right subclavian artery presented a retroesophageal course. A right non-recurrent laryngeal nerve was noticed.

Augmentation of aluminum-induced oxidative stress in rat cerebrum by presence of pro-oxidant (graded doses of ethanol) exposure.

Both aluminum and ethanol are pro-oxidants and neurotoxic. Considering the possibilities of co-exposure and sharing mechanisms of producing neurotoxicity, the present study was planned to identify the level of aluminum-induced oxidative stress in altered pro-oxidant (ethanol exposure) status of cerebrum. Male rats were coexposed to aluminum and ethanol for 4 weeks.
