State Key Laboratory of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, No.1 Medical College Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, China; Department of Pathology, Shandong Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University, Jinan, Shandong 250031, China. Electronic address:

Background: Adenomyosis is a common gynecological disease, characterized by overgrowth of endometrial glands and stroma in the myometrium, however its exact pathophysiology still remains uncertain. Emerging evidence has demonstrated the elevated level of arginase 2 (ARG2) in endometriosis and adenomyosis. This study aimed to determine whether ARG2 involved in mitochondrial function and epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) in adenomyosis and its potential underlying mechanisms.

Background: Presbycusis, also referred to as age-related hearing loss (ARHL), is a condition that results from the cumulative effects of aging on an individual's auditory capabilities. Given the limited understanding of epigenetic mechanisms in ARHL, our research focuses on alterations in chromatin-accessible regions.

Methods: We employed assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with high-throughput sequencing (ATAC-seq) in conjunction with unique identifier (UID) mRNA-seq between young and aging cochleae, and conducted integrated analysis as well as motif/TF-gene prediction.

Purpose: To establish and validate a deep learning radiomics nomogram (DLRN) based on intratumoral and peritumoral regions of MR images and clinical characteristics to predict recurrence risk factors in early-stage cervical cancer and to clarify whether DLRN could be applied for risk stratification.

Methods: Two hundred and twenty five pathologically confirmed early-stage cervical cancers were enrolled and made up the training cohort and internal validation cohort, and 40 patients from another center were enrolled into the external validation cohort. On the basis of region of interest (ROI) of intratumoral and different peritumoral regions, two sets of features representing deep learning and handcrafted radiomics features were created using combined images of T2-weighted MRI (T2WI) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI).

Biochem Biophys Res Commun

September 2023

Department of Ultrasound, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. NO.74 Linjiang Road, Chongqing, 400010, China. Electronic address:

The therapeutic effects and application of radiotherapy are restricted to some extent due to low radiosensitivity of tumor tissues and adverse effects by excess dosage. Current radiosensitizers are confronted with problems in clinical translation because of complicated manufacture technique and high cost. In this research, we have synthesized a radiosensitizer with advantages in low cost and mass production, which could be applied to CT imaging and enhanced radiotherapy in breast cancer, namely Bi-DTPA.

Objective: To investigate the effect of scutellarin on the proliferation of glioma cells through microRNA (miR)-15a.

Methods: Human glioma cell line T98G was cultured in vitro and divided into control group (without treatment), scutellarin group (with 10, 20, 40, 80, 160 μg/mL scutellarin, respectively), miR-15a negative control group (transfected with negative control-miR-15a + 80 μg/mL scutellarin) and miR-15a inhibitor group (transfected with miR-15a siRNA + 80 μg/mL scutellarin). The proliferation of T98G cells was detected by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), and the expression of miR-15a in T98G cells was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR).

Developing activatable fluorescent probes with superlative fluorescence enhancement factor (F/F ) to improve the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio is still an urgent issue. "AND" molecular logic gates are emerging as a useful tool for enhanced probes selectivity and accuracy. Here, an "AND" logic gate is developed as super-enhancers for designing activatable probes with huge F/F and S/N ratio.

Decreased expression of NPRL2 in renal cancer cells is associated with unfavourable pathological, proliferation and apoptotic features.

Pathol Oncol Res

October 2014

Department of Urology, The First Affiliated Hospital, Chongqing Medical University, No.1 Medical College Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 400016, The People's Republic of China,

The tumor suppressor gene nitrogen permease regulator-like 2(NPRL2) NPRL2 expressed obviously in many normal human tissues, but reduced in expression in many human tumors significantly. In this study, we detected the expression of NPRL2 in 78 clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) by immunohistochemistry and correlated it with clinicopathological parameters. Meanwhile, the function of NPRL2 in human ccRCC was further explored after transfected recombinant expressing plasmids pEGFP-N1-NPRL2 into human renal cancer 786-0 cells.
