The importance of the network defined by phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K), AKT and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) downstream of Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (RTK) has been recognized for many years. However, the central role of RICTOR (rapamycin-insensitive companion of mTOR) in this pathway has only recently come to light. The function of RICTOR in pan-cancer still needs to be systematically elucidated.

Progressive peritoneal fibrosis and the loss of peritoneal function often emerged in patients undergoing long-term peritoneal dialysis (PD), resulting in PD therapy failure. Varieties of cell-cell communications among peritoneal cells play a significant role in peritoneal fibrogenesis. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been confirmed to involve in intercellular communication by transmitting proteins, nucleic acids or lipids.

Increased levels of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) are associated with poor clinical outcomes in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). Scavenging cfDNA by nanomaterials is regarded as a promising remedy for cfDNA-associated diseases, but a nanomaterial-based cfDNA scavenging strategy has not yet been reported for AKI treatment. Herein, polyglycerol-amine (PGA)-covered MoS nanosheets with suitable size are synthesized to bind negatively charged cfDNA in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo models.

The therapeutic efficacy of radioimmunotherapy against triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is largely limited by the complicated tumor microenvironment (TME) and its immunosuppressive state. Thus developing a strategy to reshape TME is expected to achieve highly efficient radioimmunotherapy. Therefore, we designed and synthesized a tellurium (Te)-driven maple leaf manganese carbonate nanotherapeutics (MnCO@Te) by gas diffusion method, but also provided a chemical catalytic strategy to augment ROS level and activate immune cells for improving cancer radioimmunotherapy.
