Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains one of the most lethal malignancies, with limited treatment options yielding poor outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the real-world clinical characteristics, treatment patterns, and outcomes of patients with locally advanced unresectable and de-novo metastatic PDAC in Saudi Arabia, providing regional data to compare with international benchmarks.
Methods: This is a retrospective, multicentre study involving 350 patients diagnosed with unresectable locally advanced or de-novo metastatic PDAC between January 2015 and November 2023.

Introduction: Despite extensive studies of the impact of COVID-19 on patients with cancer, there is a dearth of information from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Our study aimed to report pertinent MENA COVID-19 and Cancer Registry (MCCR) findings on patient management and outcomes.
Methods: MCCR was adapted from the American Society of Clinical Oncology COVID-19 Registry to collect data specifically from patients with cancer and SARS-CoV-2 infection from 12 centers in eight countries including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, Algeria, United Arab Emirates, and Morocco.

Emerging evidence indicates that chemoresistance is closely related to altered metabolism in cancer. Here, we hypothesized that distinct metabolic gene expression profiling (GEP) signatures might be correlated with outcome and with specific fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) radiomic profiles in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We retrospectively analyzed a discovery cohort of 48 consecutive patients with DLBCL treated at our center with standard first-line chemoimmunotherapy by performing targeted GEP (T-GEP)- and FDG-PET radiomic analyses on the same target lesions at baseline.

Objectives: Ovarian granulosa cell tumour is rare. This study aims to report the clinical characteristics and long-term outcomes of adult-type ovarian granulosa cell tumour (AOGCT) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) and to determine the prognostic factors affecting relapse and survival.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with AOGCT, from 1988 to 2014, who were treated at our institution.

Introduction: Primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) has traditionally been treated with induction HD-MTX-based chemotherapy, followed by consolidation whole-brain radiotherapy. However, this approach is associated with significant neurocognitive complications, especially in older patients. Therefore, different consolidation protocols have been evaluated.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic presents serious challenges to cancer care because of the associated risks from the infection itself and the disruption of care delivery. Therefore, many professional societies have published recommendations to help manage patients with cancer during the current pandemic. The objective of our study is to assess the national responses of Middle East North Africa (MENA) countries in terms of publishing relevant guidelines and analyse various components of these guidelines.

Host immune homeostasis as an independent prognostic indicator has been inadequately evaluated in aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL). The present study addresses the prognostic significance in aggressive NHLs of the immunologic profile evaluated by pretreatment serum levels of immunoglobulins (Ig) and lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR). In this series of 90 patients with aggressive lymphoma, the median level for IgG was 1,024mg/dl (range 436-2236), and for LMR was 2.

Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are the treatment of choice for BCR-ABL1-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Although TKIs have substantially improved prognosis of CML patients, their use is not free of adverse effects. Dasatinib is a second generation TKI frequently associated with pleural effusion in up to 33% of patients.

Purpose: As frontline workers facing the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare providers should be well-prepared to fight the disease and prevent harm to their patients and themselves. Our study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practice of oncologists in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on them.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a validated questionnaire disseminated to oncologists by SurveyMonkey.

We report the outcomes of secondary acute myeloid leukemia (s-AML) patients included in one of 13 European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) collaborative AML trials using intensive remission-induction chemotherapy. Among 8858 patients treated between May 1986 and January 2008, 960 were identified as having s-AML, either after MDS (cohort A; = 508), occurring after primary solid tumors or hematologic malignancies other than MDS (cohort B; = 361), or after non-malignant conditions or with a history of toxic exposure (cohort C; = 91). Median age was 64 years, 60 years and 61 years in cohort A, B and C, respectively.

Purpose: Brachytherapy (BT) is an essential component of definitive therapy for locally advanced cervical cancer. Despite the advantages of the dose distribution with BT in cervical cancer, there is paucity of specific skills required for good-quality BT applications. Furthermore, replacing BT with other modern external beam techniques as a boost can lead to suboptimal results in cervix cancer.

Desmoid tumors are uncommon benign tumors with locally aggressive behavior. Even with aggressive resection with or without radiotherapy, the relapse rate is relatively high. Surgical resection can be challenging especially in large size tumors, as the resultant post-operative wide wall defect can lead to cosmetically undesirable bulging and functional loss.

Background: The incidence of rectal cancer recurrence after surgery is 5-45%. Extended pelvic resection which entails En-bloc resection of the tumor and adjacent involved organs provides the only true possible curative option for patients with locally recurrent rectal cancer.
Aim: To evaluate the surgical and oncological outcome of such treatment.

Therapy-related acute myeloid leukemia is an unfortunate complication of cancer treatment, particularly for patients with highly curable primary malignancies and favorable life expectancy. The risk of developing therapy-related acute myeloid leukemia also applies to patients with non-malignant conditions, such as autoimmune diseases treated with cytotoxic and/or immunosuppressive agents. There is considerable evidence to suggest that there is an increased occurrence of hematologic malignancies in patients with autoimmune diseases compared to the general population, with a further increase in risk after exposure to cytotoxic therapies.

Aims: To examine the potential role of magnetic resonance myelography (MRM) in defining the clinical target volume for the spinal field in craniospinal irradiation in children.
Materials And Methods: Of the 42 patients for whom magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the spine was carried out, 12 patients had MRM. The width of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) with any lateral extension at different levels was measured from the coronal MRM.
