Background: A number of efforts have been made to tailor behavioral healthcare treatments to the variable needs of patients with low back pain (LBP). The most common approach involves the STarT Back Screening Tool (SBST) to triage the need for psychologically informed care, which explores concerns about pain and addresses unhelpful beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. Such beliefs that pain always signifies injury or tissue damage and that exercise should be avoided have been implied as psychosocial mediators of chronic pain and can impede recovery.

Metal-air batteries desire highly active, durable, and low-cost oxygen reduction catalysts to replace expensive platinum (Pt). The Fe-N-C catalyst is recognized as the most promising candidate for Pt; however, its durability is hindered by carbon corrosion, while activity is restricted due to limited oxygen for the reaction. Designing binders to target undruggable proteins presents a formidable challenge in drug discovery. In this work, we provide an algorithmic framework to design short, target-binding linear peptides, requiring only the amino acid sequence of the target protein. To do this, we propose a process to generate naturalistic peptide candidates through Gaussian perturbation of the peptidic latent space of the ESM-2 protein language model and subsequently screen these novel sequences for target-selective interaction activity via a contrastive language-image pretraining (CLIP)-based contrastive learning architecture.

Many diseases and pests are fond of the backs of leaves, making wraparound deposition essential for enhancing agrochemical utilization and minimizing environmental hazards. We present a superhydrophobic surface decorated with fluorinated-SiO nanoparticles on the adaxial (front) side, improving sprayed droplet wraparound behaviors and achieving a 10-fold increase in abaxial (backside) deposition without using an electrostatic sprayer. Solid-liquid contact electrification boosts the positive charge-to-mass ratio of rebound spraying from 17 to 454 nC g, with the abaxial surface acquiring opposite electric charges at kilovolt-level voltages.

A criterion characterizing the combined neurotoxicity of amyloid beta and tau oligomers is suggested. A mathematical model that makes it possible to calculate a value of this criterion during senile plaque and NFT formation is proposed. Most current highly efficient organic solar cells utilize small molecules like Y6 and its derivatives as electron acceptors in the photoactive layer. In this work, a small molecule acceptor, SC8-IT4F, is developed through outer side chain engineering on the terminal thiophene of a conjugated 6,12-dihydro-dithienoindeno[2,3-d:2',3'-d']-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b']dithiophene (IDTT) central core. Compared to the reference molecule C8-IT4F, which lacks outer side chains, SC8-IT4F displays notable differences in molecule geometry (as shown by simulations), thermal behavior, single-crystal packing, and film morphology.
