This study was aimed at conducting a comparative analysis of the efficiency in genotyping cattle by beta-casein locus using the allele-specific PCR methods. The results of the study have demonstrated the necessity to optimize the protocol for the use of AS-PCR to detect alleles A1 and A2. It was found that the use of non-optimized PCR protocols led to the genotyping errors, manifested regarding beta-casein locus (CSN2).

Impact of the Initial Phase Composition of Alloys on the Effects Manifested by Yield Sites That Occur on Sheet Aluminum Alloys Subjected to Impact-Oscillatory Loading.

The impact of the initial phase composition of alloys was evaluated, in particular, the content of Cu, Mn, and Mg in aluminum alloys D16ChATW, 2024-T351 and aluminum alloy T, which in its physical and mechanical characteristics is close to alloy 6013. The impact was evaluated on the effects manifested by yield sites that occur on aluminum alloys that were subject to the dynamic non-equilibrium processes (DNPs) at the expense of impact-oscillatory loading of different intensities under conditions of static tensioning, The one-time DNP, to which the investigated aluminum alloys were subjected at the pre-set levels of elastic strain followed by static tensioning, was found to cause yield sites formation. This is due to self-organization of the alloy structure, which contributes to alloy plasticization.

Dependency of radioiodine root uptake by crops on soil characteristics.

The aim of this study was to quantify the parameters of root uptake of radioiodine by agricultural crops under steady state conditions depending on the main soil characteristics. For this purpose, a long-term (483-days) pot experiment was conducted under natural conditions in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone to grow radish in soils of four different types with added isotope I. The experiment demonstrated an increase in root uptake of radioiodine by radish roots in the following sequence of soil types: clay soil < loam soil ≪ sandy soil (Chernozem ≈ Phaeozem < Greyzem ≪ Podzoluvisol).

The relevance of the study is confirmed by the rapid development of automation in agriculture, in particular, horticulture; the lack of methodological developments to assess the effectiveness of the introduction of robotic technologies; and the need to expand the functionality of mobile robots. The purpose of the study was to increase the level of autonomy of a robotic platform for picking apple fruits based on a new method, develop a system of factors to determine the effectiveness of the introduction of robots in horticulture, and develop a control system using integrated processing of onboard data. The article discussed the efficiency factors for the introduction of robotic systems and technologies in agricultural enterprises specializing in horticulture within the framework of projects with different budgets.

The main regularities in the impact of varying intensity impact-oscillatory loading on the variation of the mechanical and structural properties of the VT23 high-strength two-phase transverse-rolled sheet titanium alloy have been found. The intensity of the impulse introduction of energy into the alloy under the dynamic non-equilibrium process (DNP) was estimated by ε (the increment of dynamic strain). The pulse intensity was found to change the shape of the static strain diagram with further tensioning, as compared to the initial state.

Fungi of the group belong to the family Ancylistaceae (Entomophthorales, Entomophthoromycotina, Zoopagomycota) and include over 70 predominantly saprotrophic species in four similar and closely related genera, that were separated phylogenetically recently. Entomopathogenic fungi of the genus are very close morphologically to the species. The aim of the study was to determine the effects of genotype and sex on carcass composition and selected meat quality parameters of Dworka and Pekin ducks after two reproductive seasons. The research material consisted of 24 carcasses of Dworka ducks (breeding strain D11) and 24 carcasses of Pekin ducks from the herd of genetic resources (French Pekin, strain P-9). In 2014-2015 and 2019-2021, teleost fishes off Galindez Island (Antarctic Peninsula) were examined for trematodes. Combined morphological and molecular analyses revealed the presence of eight trematode species of four families (Hemiuridae, Lecithasteridae, Opecoelidae, Lepidapedidae) from five fish species. Only adult trematodes were found and all of them are Antarctic endemics with their congeners occurring on other continents.
