Vector-borne diseases, such as malaria, are affected by the rapid urban growth and climate change in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). In this context, intra-urban malaria risk maps act as a key decision-making tool for targeting malaria control interventions, especially in resource-limited settings. The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) provide a consistent malaria data source for mapping malaria risk at the national scale, but their use is limited at the intra-urban scale because survey cluster coordinates are randomly displaced for ethical reasons.

Introduction: Edoxaban is the only anti-Xa inhibitor metabolized in pharmacologically active moiety that could interfere with chromogenic anti-Xa assays, especially in case of drug-drug interactions or physiological disorders.
Materials And Methods: We evaluated the contribution of the main metabolite of edoxaban, edoxaban-M4 (M4), in 79 plasma samples from patients taking edoxaban. The total anti-Xa activity was evaluated on three different chromogenic factor Xa-based assays.
Background: Retinoid-based therapies are commonly used in the treatment of disorders of keratinization and other skin disorders but can result in non-specific effects and adverse reactions. Use of retinoic acid metabolism blocking agents (RAMBAs) such as DX308 may address these shortcomings.
Objectives: Characterize the therapeutic potential of recently discovered, CYP26-selective RAMBA, DX308.

The zoonotic pathogen is part of the Rhizobiales, which are alpha-proteobacteria displaying unipolar growth. Here, we show that this bacterium exhibits heterogeneity in its outer membrane composition, with clusters of rough lipopolysaccharide co-localizing with the essential outer membrane porin Omp2b, which is proposed to allow facilitated diffusion of solutes through the porin. We also show that the major outer membrane protein Omp25 and peptidoglycan are incorporated at the new pole and the division site, the expected growth sites.

Migraine is a common and burdensome neurological condition which affects mainly female patients during their childbearing years. Valproate has been widely used for the prophylaxis of migraine attacks and is also included in the main European Guidelines. Previous (2014) European recommendations on limiting the use of valproate in women of childbearing age did not achieve their objective in terms of limiting the use of valproate in women of childbearing age and raising awareness regarding the hazardous effect of valproate to children exposed in utero.

Background: Leishmania (L.) are intracellular protozoan parasites able to survive and replicate in the hostile phagolysosomal environment of infected macrophages. They cause leishmaniasis, a heterogeneous group of worldwide-distributed affections, representing a paradigm of neglected diseases that are mainly embedded in impoverished populations.
