Purpose: We assessed the 27-gene RT-qPCR-based DetermaIO assay and the same score calculated from RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data as predictors of sensitivity to immune checkpoint therapy in the neoTRIPaPDL1 randomized trial that compared neoadjuvant carboplatin/nab-paclitaxel chemotherapy (CT) plus atezolizumab with CT alone in stage II/III triple-negative breast cancer. We also assessed the predictive function of the immuno-oncology (IO) score in expression data of patients treated with pembrolizumab plus paclitaxel (N = 29) or CT alone (N = 56) in the I-SPY2 trial.
Experimental Design: RNA-seq data were obtained from pretreatment core biopsies from 242 (93.

Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) of the urinary bladder is an extremely rare entity accounting for 0.2% of all malignant urinary bladder neoplasms, and the diagnosis could be challenging. We present here a patient with urinary bladder MALT lymphoma and review of all published case reports in the literature.

Background: Minimally invasive surgery in cervical cancer has demonstrated in recent publications worse outcomes than open surgery. The primary objective of the SUCCOR study, a European, multicenter, retrospective, observational cohort study was to evaluate disease-free survival in patients with stage IB1 (FIGO 2009) cervical cancer undergoing open vs minimally invasive radical hysterectomy. As a secondary objective, we aimed to investigate the association between protective surgical maneuvers and the risk of relapse.

Background: CLEOPATRA was a phase 3 study comparing the efficacy and safety of pertuzumab, trastuzumab, and docetaxel with placebo, trastuzumab, and docetaxel in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. In the primary analysis and subsequent reports, progression-free and overall survival were significantly improved in the pertuzumab group compared with the placebo group. Here, we report the end-of-study analysis of CLEOPATRA.

Many pathological states are accompanied by characteristic changes in the cellular profile of microRNAs - small molecules that regulate gene expression at the posttranscriptional level. This allows us to consider miRNA as a promising class of biological markers. In the work, a direct comparison of three RT-qPCR methodologies (s-Loop, u-Elong and 2-Tail) for miRNA analysis was performed.

Cisplatin and its derivatives are widely used chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of many cancers, including hepatoblastoma, brain tumors, and germ-cell tumors. This therapy contributed to the dramatic increase in the survival rate. However, its use is restricted by the high incidence of irreversible ototoxicity associated with cisplatin application (in more than 60% of the children receiving it).

Parametric models for survival data help to differentiate aging from other lifespan determinants. However, such inferences suffer from small sizes of experimental animal samples and variable animals handling by different labs. We analyzed control data from a single laboratory where interventions in murine lifespan were studied over decades.

Aim: to compare two methods for quantitative assessment of the proliferative activity index (PAI): a visual estimation method by several investigators and digital image analysis (DIA). The use of the Ki-67 index in the daily clinical practice of a Morbid Anatomy Department is associated with the problem of reproducibility of quantitative assessment of the Ki-67 PAI. Due to the development of digital imaging techniques in morphology, new methods for PAI evaluation using the DIA are proposed.

Background: The equivalent efficacy between SB3, a proposed trastuzumab biosimilar, and the trastuzumab reference product (TRZ) in terms of the breast pathologic complete response rate after neoadjuvant therapy in patients with early or locally advanced human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive breast cancer was demonstrated in the previous report. Here, we report the final safety, immunogenicity and survival results after neoadjuvant-adjuvant treatment.
Patients And Methods: Patients were randomised 1:1 to receive neoadjuvant SB3 or TRZ for 8 cycles concurrently with chemotherapy (4 cycles of docetaxel followed by 4 cycles of 5-fluorouracil/epirubicin/cyclophosphamide).

Recent studies have shown that changes in the expression levels of certain microRNAs correlate with the degree of severity of cervical lesions. The aim of the present study was to develop a microRNA-based classifier for the detection of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN ≥2) in cytological samples from patients with different high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) viral loads. For this purpose, raw RT-qPCR data for 25 candidate microRNAs, U6 snRNA and human DNA in air-dried PAP smears from 174 women with different cervical cytological diagnoses, 144 of which were HR-HPV-positive [40 negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy (NILM), 34 low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (L-SIL), 57 high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (H-SIL), 43 invasive cancers], were statistically processed.
