Recent sets of evidence have described profiles of 16S rDNA sequences in host tissues, notably in fat pads that are significantly overrepresented and can serve as signatures of metabolic disease. However, these recent and original observations need to be further detailed and functionally defined. Here, using state-of-the-art targeted DNA sequencing and discriminant predictive approaches, we describe, from the longitudinal FLORINASH cohort of patients who underwent bariatric surgery, visceral, and subcutaneous fat pad-specific bacterial 16SrRNA signatures.

: The anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is a crucial biomarker in regulating ovarian follicle development and female fertility. AMH levels predict ovarian responses in in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, helping clinicians tailor treatment strategies. This study aims to determine whether thyroid autoimmunity, age, body mass index (BMI), sexual hormone levels, and 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels influence serum AMH in non-polycystic-ovary-syndrome (PCOS) euthyroid women.

: Heart transplant is currently the final step in treating patients with heart failure. The success of this procedure is strongly connected to potential complications such as postoperative heart failure, infections, graft rejection, graft vasculopathy, and kidney failure. Thus, identifying potential prognostic factors for patients' outcome is of utmost importance.

Background: Bradycardia represents a frequent reason for medical presentation and has a complex aetiology, including genetic disorders, like LMNA mutation. LMNA mutation is responsible for laminopathies, including LMNA -cardiomyopathy. Cardiac involvement is prevalent and is linked to dilated cardiomyopathy associated with conduction block, which is anticipated by bradyarrhythmia and supraventricular tachyarrhythmia.

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is the leading cause of mortality globally (violent or non-violent), with few to no feasible remedies. The etiopathogenesis of SCD involves a complex and multilayered substrate in which dynamic factors interact with a preexistent cardiovascular pathology, which is often undiagnosed and untreated, leading to the rapid development of cardiac rhythm disorders and cardiac arrest. Cardiovascular disease is a rare but emerging factor in maternal mortality that can be justified by an upward trend in the mean age of pregnant individuals.

Background: Metabolic inflammation mediated obesity requires bacterial molecules to trigger immune and adipose cells leading to inflammation and adipose depot development. In addition to the well-established gut microbiota dysbiosis, a leaky gut has been identified in patients with obesity and animal models, characterized by the presence of a tissue microbiota in the adipose fat pads.
Methods: To determine its potential role, we sequenced the bacterial 16 S rRNA genes in the visceral adipose depot of patients with obesity.

Keratinocyte skin cancers are the most frequent malignancy, accounting for approximately 30% of all cancers. Although beta genus HPV are the main etiologic agents for squamous cell carcinoma development in patients with epidermodysplasia verruciformis and organ transplant recipients, their role in non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) progression in the general population remains controversial. The aim of our review is to summarize current scientific data and to systematically analyse evidence regarding the role of HPV in keratinocyte skin cancers.

Diabetic individuals are considered a vulnerable population during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and several studies noted worse outcomes, including death, among those who get infected. Diabetic emergencies, such as ketoacidosis (DKA), are common and potentially life-threatening conditions in uncontrolled patients. While the pathophysiological background of the relationship between COVID-19 and DKA is not fully understood, early reports available so far indicate that patients with pre-existing diabetes who get infected with the SARS-CoV 2 virus are at higher risk of DKA.

We discovered a rare pathology described in adulthood, followed by the development of a long asymptomatic evolution, which underlined the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration. We present the case of a 62-year-old female smoker patient, with a known previous medical history of chronic ischemic heart disease, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), gastric ulcer and gastritis. The patient was rushed to the emergency room (ER) with acute respiratory failure, chest discomfort, ankle and facial edema and a chest X-ray showing a right lower pulmonary lobe consolidation, with an alarming ischemic electrocardiogram (ECG) modification without increasing myocardial cytolysis indicators.

Introduction: Patients with bladder cancer have a high risk of venous thrombosis that represents a key challenge for physicians in the decision-making for initiating anticoagulation therapy. Non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) represents more than 70% of all diagnosed bladder malignancies; therefore, we aimed to evaluate the relationship of the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte to monocyte ratio (LMR), and risk of thrombosis by using the International Medical Prevention Registry on Venous Thromboembolism (IMPROVE) score as well as the risk of bleeding by using the IMPROVE Bleeding Risk Assessment Score in a study cohort.
Material And Methods: This was a retrospective observational study involving 130 patients who met the inclusion criteria: age > 18 years, stage pTa-pT1 NMIBC.
