Endometriosis should be diagnosed as early as possible in the continuum of care; but substantial delays of approximately 6-8 years between symptom onset and endometriosis diagnosis have been widely reported. With the purpose of improving the prompt diagnosis of endometriosis, the Asia-Pacific Endometriosis Expert Panel (APEX) sought to address the reasons for diagnostic delays across the region, and formulate a multi-pronged approach to overcoming these challenges. In the first instance, clinical diagnosis is preferable to surgical diagnosis, in order to facilitate earlier empirical treatment and minimize the negative sequelae of undiagnosed/untreated disease.

Introduction: In view of the shortened length of hospital stay following THA, an increasing proportion of patients have required transfer to "extended-care" (ECF) or "skilled nursing" facilities (SNF) over the past years. As a result, the expenditure related to postoperative care facility has been acknowledged as a crucial component of total economic burden associated with THA. In this context, the clinical and demographic factors leading to the need for transfer of patients to SNF following primary THA need to be clearly understood.

The goals of treatment for fingertip injuries are maximising digital length, tactile sensation, pulp padding, and fingertip appearance while minimising complications like infection and amputation. Currently, terminalisation, healing by secondary intention, and flap surgeries are widely used for crushing fingertip injuries, but they have their own set of issues and limitations. We present a tissue-engineered method by combining platelet-rich fibrin injections with stacked-up layers of synthetic biodegradable temporising matrix to treat a severely crushed fingertip.
