Since the first case report in 1942, the peste-des-petits-ruminants virus (PPRV) has been causing infection in a wide range of susceptible hosts, particularly in disease-endemic regions. In the last 40 years, various reports highlighted the evidence of disease and viral genome in around 46 animal species from nine diverse families, including Bovidae, Cervidae, Camelidae, Suidae, Canidae, Felidae, Muridae, and Elephantidae. This evidence of clinical and/ or subclinical infection and the presence of the virus in an extended range of susceptible hosts emphasizes the cross-species transmission that remains a significant obstacle to effective control, particularly in disease-endemic regions.

As one of the most common ways to get rid of municipal waste, landfill leachate, waste with complicated compositions and high levels of contaminants, has become a significant threat to the world's environment. Here, the impact of sewage sludge (SS) and derived-biochar (SSB) amendments on the immobilization and potential mobility of heavy metals in a contaminated soil-plant system was investigated. The sequential fractionation findings showed that using SS-2%, SSB-2%, and SSBC-1% reduced the potential mobility of heavy metals while increasing the residual fraction in polluted soils.

The presence of excessive hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in the contaminated soils and plants has become a global environmental issue due to its toxicity and carcinogenicity. This work investigated the feasibility of immobilizing Cr(VI) in the soil-plant environment using calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) synthesized from coal gangue. The results revealed that the C-S-H amendment increased soil pH and organic matter (OM), which further promoted Cr(VI) immobilization.

This data article describes the image dataset collection and annotation of the two most common fruitfly species and . The dataset is released as a collection of more than 2000 images captured through two sources: images of specially reared fruitfly species in laboratory captured by (48-megapixels) smartphone camera, and images of fruitflies captured by (8-megapixels) Raspberry Pi camera through insect traps installed in fruit orchards. Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) induces colibacillosis, an acute and systemic disease, resulting in substantial economic losses in the poultry sector. This study aimed to investigate the antibiotic resistance pattern associated with frequent virulence gene distribution in APEC O78:K80 that may cause pathological alterations in chickens. The antibiogram profile showed high resistance to erythromycin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, ampicillin, and co-trimoxazole, followed by intermediate resistance to ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, enrofloxacin, norfloxacin, nitrofurantoin, and doxycycline hydrochloride, and sensitive to amikacin, streptomycin, gentamicin, and colistin.

In this research, CuO nanostructures doped with Ag and cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) were synthesized using a facile coprecipitation technique. In this work, we doped Ag into fixed quantities of CNC and CuO to improve the photocatalytic, catalytic, and antibacterial activity. It was noted that catalytic activity increased upon doping, which was attributed to the formation of nanorods and a pH effect, while the reverse trend was observed in photocatalytic activity.

Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), MnO, CNC-doped MnO, and Zr/CNC-doped MnO were prepared with a hydrothermal method to assess their photocatalytic and antibacterial properties. Various characterizations were undertaken to determine the phase composition, the existence of functional units, optical characteristics, elemental analysis, surface topography, and microstructure of the prepared materials.
