Background: Submucosal pseudoinvasion and squamous metaplasia (SM) are incidental and special morphological findings in colorectal adenomas, and both can mimic invasive carcinoma. The coexistence of these two findings further increases the risk of misdiagnosis, posing a great diagnostic challenge to pathologists. From 1979 to 2022, only 8 cases have been reported, which was extremely rare.

Atherosclerosis is considered as a chronic inflammatory disease. MircoRNA-126-5p (miR-126-5p) may be pathophysiological relevant with the apoptotic processes in the endothelial cells in the arterial wall. Here, this study determined the role of circulating atherosclerosis-regulatory miR-126-5p in atherosclerotic mice and explored the possible mechanism in human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs).

Clinical treatment of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is very poor for lack of effective treatment combination selection. Protein C receptor (PROCR) is a novel cancer stem marker in TNBC patients tumor tissues. Developed based on peptide BP10 with affinity to PROCR as a targeting element, constructing a peptide drug conjugate of BP10 covalently coupling doxorubicin with disulfide bonds.

Luteolin-Loading Her-2 Nanospheres Enhances Targeting and Therapeutic Effects of Breast Cancer.

J Biomed Nanotechnol

August 2021

Department of Pathology, The Yancheng School of Clinical Medicine of Nanjing Medical University, Yancheng Third People's Hospital, The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University,Yancheng, Jiangsu 224000, P. R. China.

Despite the broad anticancer activity, whereas the clinical application of luteolin is hindered by unsatisfactory water solubility and non-targeting. Herein, targeted inhibitory effects of luteolin-loading HER2 nanospheres (Her-2-NPs) were successfully prepared by thin film ultrasonic method. In comparison with the non-targeted nanospheres, Her-2 nanospheres could significantly boost the intake of luteolin in SK-BR-3 cells.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-cancer effect of melittin on growth, migration, invasion, and apoptosis of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. This study also explored the potential anti-cancer mechanism of melittin in NSCLC cells. The results demonstrated that melittin suppressed growth, migration, and invasion, and induced apoptosis of NSCLC cells in vitro.

The aim of the present study was to explore the anti-cancer effects of total flavonoids (TF) on lung cancer and to investigate the underlying mechanism. The inhibitory effect of TF on the proliferation of A549 cells was measured using an MTT assay. The apoptotic rate of TF-treated A549 cells was analyzed using flow cytometry and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotinylated UTP nick end labeling.

As an enrichment strategy supplemented by the diagnostic framework of subjective cognitive decline (SCD), SCD identifies features that may increase the likelihood of including future-Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. This study aimed to identify the shared and distinct atrophy patterns between patients specified by SCD and amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI, a prodromal stage of AD) and to investigate the extent that automated brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) volumetry can differentiate patients with SCD from normal control (NC) participants and patients with aMCI. We acquired structural MRI brain scans from 44 patients with aMCI, 40 patients with SCD (who met the major criteria of SCD ), and 48 NC participants.

Background: The hippocampus and hippocampal subfields have been found to be diversely affected in Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and early stages of Alzheimer's disease by neuroimaging studies. However, our knowledge is still lacking about the trajectories of the hippocampus and hippocampal subfields atrophy with the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Objective: To identify which subfields of the hippocampus differ in the trajectories of Alzheimer's disease by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and to determine whether individual differences on memory could be explained by structural volumes of hippocampal subfields.

The aim of the present study was to analyze the effects of the combined treatment of lenvatinib and adenoviral delivered p53 gene (rAd-p53) on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells and a total of 120 patients with NSCLC. The therapeutic effects of gene therapy of rAd-p53 and target therapy of Lenvatinib were investigated in NSCLC patients. The anti-tumor effects of combined treatment of llenvatinib and rAd-p53 was administered orally once-daily in NSCLC patients.

Connexin 31 (Cx31) is considered a suppressor for many tumors. Ginsenoside (Rg1) is a traditional Chinese herb that is widely acknowledged due to its anti-tumor characteristics. However, limited studies have focused on the role of Rg1 in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) cells.

Multiscale entropy (MSE) analysis is a novel entropy-based analysis method for quantifying the complexity of dynamic neural signals and physiological systems across multiple temporal scales. This approach may assist in elucidating the pathophysiologic mechanisms of amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Using resting-state fNIRS imaging, we recorded spontaneous brain activity from 31 healthy controls (HC), 27 patients with aMCI, and 24 patients with AD.

Metabolomics, as a promising and powerful approach, refers to comprehensive assessment and identification of small molecule endogenous metabolites in a biological system which is capable of further understanding the mechanisms of diseases for early diagnosis, effective treatment and prognosis. Acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by contrast is a serious complication in patients undergoing administration of iodinated contrast media. It is becoming a major health concern in clinic, however, the molecular mechanisms of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) have not been well characterized.

Chemokines are a class of proteins with low molecular weight that serve important roles in the progression of inflammation. Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy is a surgical technique in which lasers or ultrasound are utilized to break down and/or remove kidney stones. In order to ensure a full recovery following surgery, effective patient care and nursing are required.

Several studies have evaluated the role of polymorphisms in the promoter region of gene that encodes apolipoprotein E () and the susceptibility to Alzheimer's disease (AD). The aim of this literature review and meta-analysis was to investigate the relationship between the promoter region single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs449647, -491A/T; rs769446, -427T/C and rs405509 -219T/G) and the risk of developing AD. Eligible controlled studies published up to November 2016 were retrieved from main online scientific and medical databases.
