During biosimilar drug development, conducting a clinical trial of biosimilar efficacy in patients may become necessary in the presence of residual uncertainty regarding the biosimilarity of the drugs. In the development of the biosimilar romiplostim GP40141, we aimed to use a model-based in silico clinical trial (ISCT) approach to optimize the planned biosimilar efficacy trial in patients with immune thrombocytopenia. The population pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic model for healthy volunteers was modified and validated to describe platelet dynamics in patients with immune thrombocytopenia.

This study aims to compare the tracking algorithms provided by the OpenCV library to use on ultrasound video. Despite the widespread application of this computer vision library, few works describe the attempts to use it to track the movement of liver tumors on ultrasound video. Movements of the neoplasms caused by the patient`s breath interfere with the positioning of the instruments during the process of biopsy and radio-frequency ablation.

The current guidelines from various medical societies provide a good summary of data regarding various preoperative exercise tests in patients prior to non-cardiac surgical interventions. However, there is no consensus among experts on the appropriateness of these methods for identifying risk groups for potential perioperative complications. A large volume of published studies describes the role of preoperative exercise stress testing impact in improving the prediction of potential cardiovascular (CV) risk in patients after non-cardiac surgery.

Nitric oxide can activate neutrophils and macrophages, facilitate the synthesis of collagen, which allows significantly accelerating the regeneration of traumatized tissues. We studied the effects of nitric oxide-containing gas flow generated by plasma-chemical device "Plason" in a rat model of full-thickness wounds. Histological and morphometric analyses revealed that Plason treated wounds expressed significantly fewer signs of inflammation and contained a more mature granulation tissue on day 4 after the operation.

Adipose tissue is an endocrine organ which produces a large number of secretory bioactive substances also known as adipocytokines affecting directly insulin resistance (IR), glucose and lipid metabolism, angiogenesis and inflammation. The studies show a close connection between the imbalance of adipocytokines formed as a result of excessive deposit of adipose tissue in the course of the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. In the present review, we summarize current data on the effect of the adipocytokines on the liver, skeletal muscles, adipose tissue, endothelial cells and inflammatory processes, as well as attempt to define the term «adipocytokines» and classify adipocytokines according to their influence on metabolic processes and pro-inflammatory status.

The data presented in the review showed that the coronavirus affects not only the lungs, but also the organs of the urinary system. The new virus causes a mosaic, multi-organ disease with severe consequences after the egg and has a wide organotropism. The role of SARS-CoV-2 in the development of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTs), which are manifested by frequent, imperative urges, dysuria, nocturia, is not entirely clear.

The study aimed to explore the impact of cervical conization size (CCS) with subsequent cervical length (USCL) changes on preterm birth (PTB) rates in asymptomatic singleton pregnancies as compared to pregnancy outcomes in healthy women with an intact cervix (ICG), and to estimate PTB prevention efficiency in patients with a short cervix. Pregnancy outcomes in populations of similar age, ethnicity, residency, education and harmful habits having undergone cervical conization (CCG) were retrospectively analyzed and compared to ICG and cervical conization sub-populations adjusted by USCL during pregnancy (adequate cervical length vs. a short cervix) and a progesterone-only group (POG) vs.

Background: Many herbal formulas are used in dentistry in the complex treatment and prevention of periodontitis, but it is not always possible to achieve a long-term remission and stimulate regeneration of periodontal structures.
Aim: The aim of this randomized clinical trial was to assess the efficacy of chronotherapy with complex phytoadaptogens (CFA) as an adjunct to non-surgical periodontal treatment (NSPT) and to achieve long-term remission.
Materials And Methods: Forty systemically healthy patients with chronic generalized periodontitis (probing pocket depth ≥5 mm) were randomly divided into two groups: patients in one group received treatment with NSPT alone (group 2), whereas patients in another group received CFA in addition to NSPT (group 3).

The Aim Of The Study: Was to assess the correlation of various maxillofacial structures in subjects with different types of craniofacial growth.
Materials And Methods: The results of comparing the morphology of the masseter muscles (thickness, area, echostructure) in 30 volunteers aged from 18 to 25 years without malocclusions and different type of craniofacial growth were presented.
Results: A significant correlation between the thickness of the masseter muscles and morphology of the facial skull was observed: the smallest thickness of masseter muscles was in subjects with vertical type of craniofacial growth, the largest - in patients with horizontal type of craniofacial growth.
