[Oral markers of histiocytosis-x from Langerhans cells in a 13-year-old child].

Langerhanscell histiocytosis is an orphan disease based on clonal proliferation of pathologic histocytes and specific infiltrates in various organs and tissues. In case of localization of pathologic foci in the sponge substances of the flat bones of the lower jaw the disease brings on morphological changes and neurological symptoms typical of dental pulp diseases. Early diagnosis of latent neoplastic processes in the TMJ area in children in the clinic allows us to minimize the volume of surgery and start the treatment of the main disease in time that improves a child's quality of life.

[The structure of inflammatory periodontal diseases and the dynamics of the periodontal status in pregnant women during the gestational period].

Basing on the analysis of 165 pregnant women with confirmed diagnosis of periodontal disease the structure of inflammatory periodontal diseases and periodontal status of pregnant women during gestation has been studied considering the influence of various factors on the dynamics of several periodontal and hygiene indices. The study proved a significant age-related deterioration of the periodontal status of pregnant women due to hormonal changes in the gestational period.

[Specific features of deployment of medical staff in the private dental sector].

The features of deployment of dentists of different specialties in the private dental sector of the city of Moscow are studied. On the material of 296 dentists, the main reasons for the employment, motivation to change from state, municipal, departmental to private medical organizations are considered for dentists of different specialties.

[Improving the methods of diagnosis and treatment of otitis media with effusion].

The study involved 172 patients with otitis media with effusion. All patients as a method of early diagnosis of otitis media with effusion conducted multislice computer tomography (MSCT). This made it possible to check the effectiveness of conservative treatment and timely perform surgical treatment, including sanitizing intervention on the middle ear with the erased clinical picture of acute mastoiditis, and to avoid complications.

Data on somatic mutations obtained by whole exome sequencing of FFPE tissue samples from Russian patients with prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most frequently diagnosed among men malignant disease that remains poorly characterized at the molecular level. Advanced PCa is not curable, and the current treatment methods can only increase the life expectancy by several months. Identification of the genetic aberrations in tumor cells provides clues to understanding the mechanisms of PCa pathogenesis and the basis for developing new therapeutic approaches.

[The forensic medical characteristic of the gunshot exit wounds inflicted under the conditions of the bullet-resistant protection].

This article reports the results of a forensic medical expertise of the gunshot wound in a serviceman wearing a bulletproof vest with special reference to the behaviour of the bullet that underwent deformation upon hitting the jacket. The authors emphasize the difficulty of differential diagnostics between the entry and exit wounds in the cases like that described in the paper. A series of experiments provided the data suggesting the specific mechanism by which exit gunshot wounds are formed in those parts of the body that adjoin the material from which the bulletproof vest is made.

[Correction of the lumbosacral orthosis in the patients presenting with patellofemoral pain syndrome with the use of physical exercise therapy].

The Rationale: The differential approach taking into consideration the pathogenetic aspects of the pathological condition of interest with the identification of the principal cause of disorders in the musculo-skeletal system is a topical issue in the development of the measures for the rehabilitative treatment of the affected patients. Despite a great variety of methods and guidelines currently available for the conservative treatment of the musculoskeletal system diseases, further investigations and the development of the approaches and recommendations are needed for the correction and prevention of pathobiomechanical disorders and securing the optimal motor stereotype.

Aim: The objective of the present study was to improve the existing methods for the correction of the lumbosacral orthosis in the patients presenting with patellofemoral pain syndrome with the use of physical exercise therapy for the improvement of their locomotor activity.

According to the results of endodontic treatment of chronic forms of odontotis and periodontitis the rate of complications continues to be high - from 32% to 50% that os related to characteristics of microbial bio-film. The studies of this object in root canals and methods of eradication of bio-films are at their initial stage. The purpose of study is to provide a laboratory substantiation and evaluation of efficacy of complex effect of ultrasound processing and photo-activating disinfection of root of tooth in case of chronic forms of odontotis and periodontitis and also evaluation of endodontic treatment using scanning electronic microscopy.

Efficiency and Prospects of Diagnosis of the Functional State of the Dental System.

This paper presents the results of studying the effectiveness of the developed method for diagnosing the functional state of the dental system. The results indicate that the accuracy of the method is about 80%. The results of previous studies are reviewed and the prospects for diagnosis of the functional state of the dental system as a research and practical trend in dentistry are outlined.

Features of the clinical picture in patients of middle age with essential hypertension.

[The use of the three-dimensional modeling for the elucidation of the mechanism of injury formation and identification of the injurious agents].

The article reports a case of the application of the thee-dimensional models of an injury on a corpse and of a blunt trace-forming object with which it was presumably inflicted for the identification purposes. The models were constructed based on a series of the digital photographs processed with the use of the specialized software program. The work with the application of the three dimensional models made it possible to avoid disfiguring of the corpse, to determine the stages and conditions of infliction of the injury in the graphic editor software environment, and to arrive at the conclusion about the parts of the traumatic agent with which the injury was caused.

This article presents the materials devoted to the long-term history of collaboration between the Bureau of Forensic Medical Expertise of the Moscow Health Department and the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Sechenovsky University. Special attention is given to the contribution made by the Department of Forensic Medicine to the scientific and practical activities, methodological and staffing support first of the Moscow forensic medical services and thereafter of the Bureau of Forensic Medical Expertise operating under the auspices of the Moscow Health Department. Simultaneously, the influence of the work of the Moscow Bureau of Forensic Medical Expertise on the development and improvement of the scientific, methodological, and pedagogical activities of the Russia's oldest Department of Forensic Medicine is overviewed.

Background: The high level of physical activity is known to contribute to the harmonious development of children and adolescents: moreover; it is a factor promoting prevention of hypodynamia. The low level of physical activity is a risk factor for the development of many non-communicable diseases. However, physical education is not considered by many students as an attractive subject.

[Clinical pathomorphology and tanatogenesis of various forms of alcoholic intoxication].

The objective of the present study was to identify the clinical and pathomorphological changes in the internal organs for the elucidation of the cause of death associated with various forms of alcoholic intoxication (chronic alcoholic intoxication, poisoning with surrogate alcohols, etc.). The analysis of the clinical conditions resulting from alcohol abuse has demonstrated that the principal pathology underlying the fatal outcome is complemented by a variety of non-lethal somatic disorders aggravating the patients' condition and enhancing its severity.

[Visualization of the reconstruction of a criminal event by means of 3D-modeling].

Forensic medical expertise carried out with a view to reconstruction of an event is a time-consuming procedure because it requires collection of a large amounts of various materials for the institution of a criminal investigation including physical evidence, photoboards of the site of an occurrence, etc. A forensic medical expert may encounter difficulties when reconstructing and scrutinizing the scene of action at a single computer monitor in order to analyze the behaviour of each participant of the event. Of great help in such situations are modern software programs allowing to visualize the site of an occurrence with a maximum approximation to reality, simulate the actions of the victim(s) and alleged offender(s), perform a large number of other forensic studies.

[The construction of the three-dimensional model of the damaged bone tissue based on its roentgenogram].

The objective of the present work was to develop the method for the visualization of the shape of the bone surface in the region of its traumatic damage based on the results of the analysis of a single X-ray image for the solution of the problems facing forensic medical expertise and traumatology. The three-dimensional models of the fractures of the long tubular bones constructed with the use of the visualization technique were shown to adequately reproduce the morphological picture of the injury. It allowed to enhance the potential of the forensic medical analysis and the accuracy of the diagnostic methods employed for the purposes of forensic medical expertise.

[The peculiar morphological features of the surface relief of the major local ruptures of the liver in the case of a blunt injury].

The objective of the present study was the comprehensive investigation of morphogenesis of the surface relief of the major local ruptures of the liver in the case of a blunt injury and the obtaining of an additional information on the possibility to use these data for the purposes of forensic medical expertise. We explored the reliefs of the major local ruptures of the liver in the cases of a single fatal blunt injury inflicted in a traffic accident, by kicking or a powerful stroke with the fist. In addition, the threshold hepatic lesions depending on their severity were determined experimentally.

Mental state assessment of recipients in the IVF donor programs and psychotherapeutic methods of its correction.

The management of infertility with assisted reproductive technologies (ART) could solve a medical problem but still leave psychosocial problems, associated with both long-term infertility and specific treatment, unaddressed in a number of cases. Evaluation of the mental state of recipients in the IVF donor programs and its dynamics when mid-term multimodal psychotherapy has been used. The study was conducted in the Family Medicine Center - an ART clinic of the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia between 2016 and 2017.

[The meteopathic reactions as reflected in the indicators of electropuncture diagnostics. A pilot study].

The present article was designed to report the results of the electropuncture diagnostics (EPD) with the use of the 'Prognoz' electropunctural device obtained during the examination of 12 patients who experienced meteopathic reactions (MPR) during magnetic storms. The most frequently detected changes were deviations affecting the acupuncture channels (AC) of the heart, pericardium and triple energizer. The latter underwent the most pronounced deviation from the 'balanced condition'.

The authors discuss the conceptual issues of the academic program designed to teach forensic medicine to the students of the stomatological faculties of educational medical institutions. The program has been elaborated in conformity with the federal state educational standard of higher professional education in the speciality stomatology'. It defines the goals and objectives of this discipline, the scope of its competences, the subject matter and the content, the requirements to the studies and educational work, control over the level of its success, academic progress, and other aspects of the training activities, with special emphasis being placed on the formation of the general professional competence of the students to enable them to work independently after they graduated from the institute.

The objective of the present study was to obtain the ballistic characteristics of the igniting primer (electrical ignitor) for the 18×45T cartridges of the 'Osa' pistol produced by different manufacturers. The experiments included a series of shots fired from the 'Osa' pistol with the use of cartridges having an energy of 85 Joules ('Novye oruzheinye tekhnologii', Ltd., Sergiev Posad) and 88 Joules ('A+A', Ltd, Tula).

This article was designed to report the results of the analysis of the consequences of a real case of the sidewise collision and run-over involving a pedestrian and an automobile moving in the reverse gear along an arc of a circle. Special attention was given to the mechanism behind the collision, its peculiar features, and characteristic damages inflicted to the pedestrian's body and clothes.
