By providing adaptive advantages to plants, desert microorganisms are emerging as promising solutions to mitigate the negative and abrupt effects of climate change in agriculture. Among these, pseudomonads, commonly found in soil and in association with plants' root system, have been shown to enhance plant tolerance to salinity and drought, primarily affecting root system architecture in various hosts. However, a comprehensive understanding of how these bacteria affect plant responses at the cellular, physiological and molecular levels is still lacking.

Retinoblastoma (RB) proteins are highly conserved transcriptional regulators that play important roles during development by regulating cell-cycle gene expression. RBL2 dysfunction has been linked to a severe neurodevelopmental disorder. However, to date, clinical features have only been described in six individuals carrying five biallelic predicted loss of function (pLOF) variants.

Leishmaniasis is a vector-borne parasitic infection induced by protozoa of the genus The disease spectrum ranges from skin lesions to visceral leishmaniasis, which is fatal if untreated. The cutaneous leishmaniasis is characterized by a clinical polymorphism of lesions with a broad range of severity ranging from a self-limited lesion to multiple disfiguring lesions stigmatizing the patient for life. Although iron is required for several process of infection including survival, growth and virulence, the number of studies on host iron metabolism during this infection remains limited.

Introduction: Acute promyelocytic leukemia (AML-M3), classified as acute Myeloid leukemia with PML RARA according to the 5th edition of the World Health Organization classification of haematolymphoid tumors 2022 [1], is marked by abnormal promyelocyte proliferation and is known for high risks of bleeding and thromboembolic complications. We present a case where lower limb ischemia revealed this leukemia in a child.
Case Report: An 11-year-old with minor ankle trauma developed severe lower limb ischemia, leading to the discovery of subtotal femoral artery thrombosis.

This work involves the synthesis of two chitosan derivatives by reacting chitosan, extracted from shrimp shells in eastern Morocco, with 2-nitrobenzaldehyde via a Schiff base reaction. An amino derivative of chitosan was then produced by reducing the imine group created by sodium borohydride. We investigated the molecular weight (), crystallinity index (), and degree of deacetylation () of the isolated chitosan, among other characteristic features.

Medical analysis laboratories play an essential role in medical diagnosis, with their results influencing up to 70% of decisions. This means that the quality of laboratory services is a key factor in the quality of medical care. However, certification and accreditation are not yet compulsory in Morocco, and only the Guide to the Good Execution of Medical Biology Analyses (GBEA) published in 2011 governs the organisation of laboratories.

The recent decline in the health status of deep-sea habitats around the world has pushed the need to document and map their distribution to preserve them in their marine ecosystems. This work describes deep-water coral habitats (133-729 m) and their associated communities, based on nine ROV video transects. These transects cover a 171 km sub-seafloor profile within a predefined 5560 km area along the North Atlantic coast of Morocco, surveyed in 2020 as part of a coral habitat mapping study under the FAO-NANSEN programme.

Importance: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common complication of intradetrusor onabotulinumtoxinA (BTX-A) injection. Despite this, there are no evidence-based guidelines on antibiotic prophylaxis.
Objectives: Our primary aim was to determine whether antibiotic prophylaxis decreased symptomatic, culture-proven UTI rates within 6 weeks of intradetrusor BTX-A injection.

Predator-prey interactions are a major driver of microbiome dynamics, but remain difficult to predict. While several prey traits potentially impact resistance to predation, their effects in a multispecies context remain unclear. Here, we leverage synthetic bacterial communities of varying complexity to identify traits driving palatability for nematodes, a main consumer of bacteria in soil.

Mycotic aneurysms are a rare but potentially life-threatening complication of infections, particularly those involving the spine. Spondylodiscitis, a bacterial or fungal infection of the intervertebral disc, is a known risk factor for the development of mycotic aneurysms. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are crucial for improving patient outcomes.

A core panel of 300 Watkins wheat landraces, as well as 16 non-Watkins landraces and elite wheat cultivars, was grown during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons at four Agricultural Research Stations in Egypt, Gemmiza, Nubaria, Sakha, and Sids, to evaluate the core panel for agromorphological and yield-related traits. The genetic population structure within these genotypes were assessed using 35,143 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).

Background: The Middle East and North African (MENA) region is a major global hotspot for migration with more than 40 million migrants, who may be an under-vaccinated group because of barriers to vaccination within countries of origin, transit, and destination. We systematically synthesised the evidence on coverage, acceptance, drivers of uptake, and policies pertaining to vaccination for children and adult migrants in the region, in order to explore tailored interventions for these groups.
Methods: We searched six databases (including Medline, Embase) for peer-reviewed literature, and other websites (including WHO, IOM, ministries of health) for grey literature on coverage, acceptance, drivers of uptake and policies for any vaccination in migrants in the MENA region from between 2000 and 27 August 2024 in any language.

We report on a case that was successfully treated using the Vascular HITCH, an alternative method with lower morbidity than Anderson and Hynes pyeloplasty considered the gold standard procedure. Our objective is to outline the aforementioned method and illustrate its ease of use and possible efficacy in carefully chosen adult patients.

Food safety is a significant challenge for countries worldwide due to the growing number of food poisoning outbreaks, particularly in the catering sector, which impacts consumer health and imposes additional economic costs on countries. The role of food handlers in restaurants is crucial for guaranteeing this safety and protecting the health of citizens. This pioneering study in central Morocco aimed to assess food safety knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAPs) among food handlers and to identify key factors influencing adequate knowledge, positive attitudes, and effective practices.

Chitosan, a biopolymer derived from chitin, exhibits significant antifungal properties, making it a valuable compound for various applications in agriculture food preservation, and biomedicine. The present study aimed to assess the antifungal properties of chitosan-modified films using sol-gel derivatives (CS:ZnO) or graphene-filled chitosan, (CS:GO and CS:rGO) against two strains of fungi that are the most common cause of food spoilage: ATCC 9643 and DSM 1282. The results indicate important differences in the antifungal activity of native chitosan films and zinc oxide-modified chitosan films.
