Background: The PRADO-IC (Programme de Retour à Domicile après une Insuffisance Cardiaque) is a transition care program designed to improve the coordination of care between hospital and home that was generalized in France in 2014. The PRADO-IC consists of an administrative assistant who visits patients during hospitalization to schedule follow-up visits. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the PRADO-IC program based on the hypotheses provided by health authorities.

Polyphagous broad nosed weevils (Curculionidae: Entiminae) constitute a large and taxonomically challenging subfamily that contains economically significant agricultural pests worldwide. South Africa is a hot-spot for biodiversity and several species of indigenous and endemic genera of Entiminae have shifted on to cultivated plants, with some being phytosanitary pests. The sporadic pest status of many species (where the species has an occasional economic impact on the agricultural industry, but is not encountered often enough that is is readily recognisable by researchers and agricultural extension workers) and the presence of pest complexes and cryptic species represent an identification challenge to non-specialists.

Our case underlines the tight management of antithrombotic therapy in the context of acutely decompensated chronic kidney disease, ischemic stroke, and SARS-CoV2 infection, the development of stroke as a SARS-CoV2 complication increase the chances of adverse outcomes that may be mitigated by a rapid recognition and institution of available treatments.

Introduction: The frequently used Cox regression applies two critical assumptions, which might not hold for all predictors. In this study, the results from a Cox regression model (CM) and a generalized Cox regression model (GCM) are compared.

Methods: Data are from the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE), which includes approximately 140,000 individuals aged 50 or older followed over seven waves.

Bats are the second most species-rich Mammalian order and provide a wide range of ecologically important and economically significant ecosystem services. Nipah virus is a zoonotic emerging infectious disease for which pteropodid bats have been identified as a natural reservoir. In Cambodia, Nipah virus circulation has been reported in , but little is known about the spatial distribution of the species and the associated implications for conservation and public health.

Stocking methods are used in the Province of Quebec to restore populations. However, Atlantic salmon stocked juveniles show higher mortality rates than wild ones when introduced into nature. Hatchery environment, which greatly differs from the natural environment, is identified as the main driver of the phenotypic mismatch between captive and wild parrs.

Motivation: The BioTIME database contains raw data on species identities and abundances in ecological assemblages through time. These data enable users to calculate temporal trends in biodiversity within and amongst assemblages using a broad range of metrics. BioTIME is being developed as a community-led open-source database of biodiversity time series.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to investigate the role of DNA methylation in causing differences in symptoms among cystic fibrosis (CF) patients that are not linked to genetic inheritance.
  • Researchers used the 450 K BeadChip technology to analyze DNA methylation in nasal cells from 32 CF patients and 16 control subjects.
  • The findings revealed significant methylation differences between CF patients and controls, with variations correlating to disease severity and lung function, particularly affecting genes related to epithelial health and immune responses.
