Three Cases of Allergic Contact Dermatitis to 2-(Thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole in Leather Items.

Background: 2-(Thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole (TCMTB) is a fungicide product widely used in the leather industry, particularly since the 1990s. However, reports of allergic contact dermatitis triggered by this chemical are scarce.

Objectives: To investigate three cases of dermatitis following contact with leather products, possibly related to TCMTB.

Although acSCC frequently affects elderly patients with multiple comorbidities, this subset of patients is often excluded of registration clinical trials.

Background: Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and photoallergic contact dermatitis (PACD) to benzophenone present in printing ink have been reported. However, precise chemical analyses and extended photo-patch tests have not been performed in these cases.

Objectives: To determine which components present in a magazine cover are responsible for a patient's skin reaction, to determine the primary sensitizer, and precisely diagnose ACD and PACD.
