Natural deep eutectic solvents (NaDES) were employed for the extraction of bilberry and green tea leaves. This study explored the incorporation of these NaDES extracts into various carrier systems: hydrogels, emulsions, and emulgels stabilized with hydroxyethyl cellulose or xanthan gum. The results demonstrated that, when combined with synthetic UV filters, the NaDES extracts significantly enhanced the SPF and improved the antioxidant properties of the formulation.

This paper reports the chemical constituents of essential oils from different organs of L. collected at three localities in Montenegro (Bar, Budva and Herceg-Novi), thus covering the northern, central and southern parts of the national coastline. A total of 12 samples were isolated by hydrodistillation and analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method.

In STREAM-2 (Second Strategic Reperfusion Early After Myocardial Infarction), half-dose tenecteplase was an effective and safe pharmaco-invasive strategy in older patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction presenting within <3 hours, compared with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We prespecified evaluating the efficacy and safety of a half-dose versus full-dose pharmaco-invasive strategy and compared the half-dose pharmaco-invasive strategy to primary PCI in patients aged ≥75 years.

The decolonise global health movement has critically reassessed the field's historical and political underpinnings, urging researchers to recognise biases and power imbalances through reflexivity and action. Genuine change is seen as the outcome of the researcher's self-awareness, often leaving the underlying structures of global health-and global mental health (GMH)-in the background. Here, we problematise how expectations around agency and change have been mobilised in discussions around decolonisation, highlighting the gradual and contingent nature of international collaboration in GMH.

ST8-t008-SCC IV methicillin-resistant in retail fresh cheese.

This study reports the finding of 3 ST8-t008-SCC IVa (2B) methicillin-resistant (MRSA) strains in fresh cheese purchased within a single market in Costa Rica. In line with the finding of the resistance genes , , (C), and (A) in their genomes, these bacteria showed phenotypic resistance to multiple β-lactams and erythromycin. In addition, they carry genes for acquired resistance to aminoglycosides () and fosfomycin (), and genes for a myriad of virulence factors, including adhesins, hemolysins, and exotoxins.

Plastic pollution has been identified as one of the most pressing environmental issues of the 21st century, driven by excessive consumption and inadequate plastic waste management. This issue is particularly reflected in short lifespan of plastic products, particularly plastic packaging within the food and beverage (F&B) industry. Urgent and relevant policy actions are needed to promote plastic circularity and improve waste management practices.

A total of 26 holotypes and 125 paratypes of Hymenoptera housed in the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural de Cuba are catalogued. Original publications were reviewed to compile all accompanying information and verify the status of the material. Data on the specimens are provided, grouped by families, and holotypes were photographed, making them more accessible for study by the scientific community.

This manuscript aims to develop a methodology for creating a standardized monitoring system to assess physical exercise and performance in esports players at national, regional, and global levels. This study protocol proposes 20 online sociodemographic indicators to help characterize participating countries and outline each country's demographic profile.

Manufacturing sulfated cellulose nanofibers using a unique combined DES-based pretreatment-functionalization protocol for metal ion decontamination through porous adsorbents.

This study confirms the efficacy of a unique combined pretreatment-functionalization protocol based on the use of deep eutectic solvent (DES) to obtain sulfated lignocellulose and cellulose nanofibers (SLNF or SNF) hydrogels, which have been successfully shaped as sponge-based adsorbents and fruitfully assessed for the removal of heavy metals from water. A comprehensive characterization study was conducted, demonstrating an excellent degree of sulfation (0.62) in DES-treated wheat straw-derived nanofibers.
