In order to investigate the failure modes and instability mechanism of fractured rock. Uniaxial compression tests were conducted on sandstone specimens with different dip angles. Based on rock energy dissipation theory and fractal theory, the energy evolution characteristics and fragmentation fractal characteristics in the process of deformation and failure of specimens were analyzed.

Salinization of groundwater is a major challenge for groundwater management in long-term irrigation areas, decoupling its complex influencing factors can provide insights for the sustainable development of irrigation areas. In this study, the natural-human driving factors of groundwater salinization in the Yinchuan Plain, a typical irrigated area, were identified using isotope analysis, information entropy, and self-organizing map. Results show that groundwater in the study area is seriously salinized with obvious spatial heterogeneity.

Salinization of irrigation areas is a global environmental challenge. The uncertainty in the distribution of salinization is increased by the complexity of the natural environment. This study adopted Yinchuan Plain as a typical irrigation area to study the relationship between soil salinity and the environment from the perspective of macro-environmental elements and micro-ion composition.

Objective: To investigate the pathological changes and viral invasion in the main organs of rhesus macaques after experimental infection with H5N1 virus.

Methods: The rhesus macaques were infected with H5N1 virus (AF148678/ACGoose/Guangdong/11961H5N1) by nasal inoculation under anesthesia. One rhesus macaque was killed respectively at 1, 3, 6, 14 days after infection.
