Objectives: The endoscopic pressure study integrated system (EPSIS) measures intragastric pressure (IGP) during esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Previous research demonstrated that EPSIS correlates with the 24-h impedance-pH (MII-pH) test and shows lower maximum IGP (IGP-Max) and a flatter waveform gradient in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) patients, attributed to lower esophageal sphincter dysfunction. Although endoscopic antireflux therapy (EARTh) is effective for GERD, the MII-pH monitoring, the gold standard for assessing treatment outcomes, requires hospitalization and can be a burden.

A chemical examination of a root extract of led to the isolation and identification of 23 compounds, including oxazole-type alkaloids and isoflavonoid derivatives. Notably, three oxazole-type alkaloids (, , and ) and two isoflavonoid derivatives ( and ) were obtained from a natural source for the first time. In addition, derived 2,5-diphenyloxazoles and their derivatives were synthesized.

Background: Aesthetics is a crucial consideration in the anterior region, alongside dental implant survival and marginal bone loss (MBL). Bone-level implants are advantageous in the esthetic zone as they create a natural emergence profile with the use of customized abutments. This study aimed to assess the esthetic outcomes of internally submerged, tapered, bone-level dental implants and to evaluate associated alveolar bone changes.

: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic skin condition that weakens the skin barrier, leading to increased trans-epidermal water loss and reduced skin moisture. Understanding how these changes in the skin barrier relate to AD severity in Mongolian children may offer insights that could apply to other regions facing similar environmental challenges. : A cross-sectional study was conducted at the National Dermatology Center of Mongolia, involving 103 children with AD.

Background: Mongolian grasslands, including the Gobi Desert, have been exposed to drought conditions with few rains. In such harsh environments, plants with highly resistant abilities against drought stress survive over long periods. We hypothesized that these plants could harbor novel and valuable genes for enhancing drought stress resistance.

Background: Inflammatory diseases impair the reparative properties of endothelial progenitor cells (EPC); however, the involvement of diabetes in EPC dysfunction associated with myocardial infarction (MI) remains unknown.
Methods: A model was established combining high-fat diet (HFD)/streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice with myocardial infarction. The therapeutic effects of transplanted wild-type EPC, Nlrp3 knockout EPC, and Nlrp3 overexpression EPC were evaluated.

Rational utilization of natural resources is crucial in arid and semi-arid areas due to their vulnerable ecosystems and low resource resilience. Achieving a balance between grassland production and livestock grazing, known as the pasture-livestock balance, is essential for the sustainable development of grassland resources on the Mongolian Plateau (MP). This study focuses on the grassland regions of 8 provinces in eastern Mongolia (MNG) and 7 leagues in Inner Mongolia (IMNG), China, during the period from 2018 to 2022.

Zika virus (ZIKV) infection can result in a birth defect of the brain called microcephaly and other severe fetal brain defects. ZIKV enters the susceptible host cells by endocytosis, which is mediated by the interaction of the envelope (E) glycoprotein with cellular surface receptor molecules. However, the cellular factors that used by the ZIKV to gain access to host cells remains elusive.

Relaxor ferroelectric film capacitors exhibit high power density with ultra-fast charge and discharge rates, making them highly advantageous for consumer electronics and advanced pulse power supplies. The Aurivillius-phase bismuth layered ferroelectric films can effectively achieve a high breakdown electric field due to their unique insulating layer ((BiO) layer)). However, designing and fabricating Aurivillius-phase bismuth layer relaxor ferroelectric films with optimal energy storage characteristics is challenging due to their inherently stable ferroelectric properties.

More than 95% of adult humans worldwide are latently infected with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Recent studies indicated that different EBV strains colonize different regions of Asia, where nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is endemic (southern China) or non-endemic (Japan/Korea). We searched for viral single nucleotide variant markers throughout the EBV genome by comparing the coding sequences of Japanese/Korean and NPC-endemic Chinese strains.

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounting for ~75% of all primary liver cancers and exhibiting a high incidence rate. Unfortunately, the response rate to chemotherapeutic agents for liver cancer is relatively low, primarily due to the development of drug resistance and the lack of targeted therapeutic agents. The present study focused on the anticancer mechanisms of quercetin and the development of innovative nanocarriers designed to enhance its efficacy against HCC while mitigating drug resistance.

Background/objectives: Mongolian diets are characterized by high meat consumption, which may contribute to dietary iron intake and influence ferritin levels and cardiovascular risk. Elevated ferritin levels have been associated with inflammation and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in various populations; however, the specific effects of high meat intake and ferritin levels on CVD risk in Mongolian individuals with diabetes remain unclear. This study aimed to assess the relationship between meat intake, ferritin levels, and cardiovascular risk markers in a diabetic Mongolian population.
