Background: Pediatric musculoskeletal disorders account for 10% of first-line consultations in Tunisia. Referral delay and deficiencies in musculoskeletal screening raise a challenge to the early diagnosis and management of rheumatic conditions in children. The pGALS (Pediatric Gait Arms Legs Spine) was developed and translated into many languages to overcome these deficiencies.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) and plantar fasciitis share similar risk factors including ageing, occupation, obesity, and inappropriate shoe wear. However, the association between knee OA and heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis has received limited attention to date.

Aim: We aimed to assess the prevalence of plantar fasciitis using ultrasound in patients with knee OA and to identify factors associated with plantar fasciitis in these patients.

  • Ectrodactyly is a rare limb malformation that can occur alone or as part of syndromes, such as ADULT syndrome, which includes traits like ectodermal dysplasia and lacrimal duct issues.
  • A case study reported a patient with ADULT syndrome showing additional eye issues and congenital cone dystrophy, alongside her sister who had the same condition.
  • Whole Exome Sequencing revealed two important genetic variants, linking the patient's ectrodactyly and the sisters' cone dystrophy to different genetic causes.

Background: The MCP-1/CCR2 axis is one of the major chemokine signaling pathways that play a crucial role in the tumor microenvironment and has been involved in triggering various tumor progression mechanisms, such as increasing the immunosuppressive cells recruitment and promoting tumor cell proliferation and invasiveness.

Aim: The current study investigated the association of MCP1 (rs1024611) and CCR2 (rs1799864) genes variants with the risk as well as prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) and colorectal liver metastases (CRLM).

Subjects And Methods: A retrospective cohort study involved 408 patients (284 CRC and 124 CRLM), and 284 healthy control was conducted.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) is an important measurement tool in pediatric rheumatology as it detects subclinical disease activity and enables clinicians to treat patients during "the window of opportunity". However, the role of MSUS in assessing remission in JIA patients is not well-defined. This systematic review aimed to provide the most up-to-date published literature regarding the added value of MSUS in JIA patients in remission.

Background: Ectodermal dysplasias (EDs) are a large and complex group of disorders affecting the ectoderm-derived organs; the clinical and genetic heterogeneity of these conditions renders an accurate diagnosis more challenging. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the clinical utility of a targeted resequencing panel through enhancing the molecular and clinical diagnosis of EDs. Given the recent developments in gene and protein-based therapies for X-linked hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, there is a re-emerging interest in identifying the genetic basis of EDs and the respective phenotypic presentations, in an aim to facilitate potential treatments for affected families.

Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is an auto-inflammatory disease characterised by sterile bone lesions. We report a case of a seven-year-old female patient who presented at a university hospital in 2010 and 2018 with CRMO. While the most promising results have been observed in patients under treatment with bisphosphonates (BPs), the initial decision to treat the current patient with a dose of zoledronic acid every six months was recalled as the patient developed tonic-clonic seizures immediately following the second dose BP administration.
