Background: The clinical diagnosis of manifest Huntington's disease (HD) relies on a high level of clinical confidence (99% confidence) of HD-consistent motor signs. Introduction: Visual assessment and imaging of the donor liver are inaccurate in predicting fibrosis and remain surrogates for histopathology. This case describes a young man with an unusual cause of severe osteoporosis and markedly deranged bone microarchitecture resulting in multiple fractures. A potentially pathogenic germline variant in the runt-related transcription factor 1 (RUNX1) gene was discovered by a focused 51-gene myeloid malignancy panel during investigation for his unexplained normochromic normocytic anemia. Further bone-specific genetic testing and a pedigree analysis were declined by the patient.

Cardiogenic shock is characterized by tissue hypoxia caused by circulatory failure arising from inadequate cardiac output. In addition to treating the pathologic process causing impaired cardiac function, prompt hemodynamic support is essential to reduce the risk of developing multiorgan dysfunction and to preserve cellular metabolism. Pharmacologic therapy with the use of vasopressors and inotropes is a key component of this treatment strategy, improving perfusion by increasing cardiac output, altering systemic vascular resistance, or both, while allowing time and hemodynamic stability to treat the underlying disease process implicated in the development of cardiogenic shock.
