Bronchopulmonary cancer muscle metastases are uncommon, especially when they are visible. They can impact any muscle in the body, but the psoas, diaphragmatic, and paravertebral muscles have a clear advantage. We present a case of lateral pterygoid muscle metastasis of squamous cell carcinoma of the lung in a 70-year-old habitual smoker (40 packs per year) presents headaches more marked on the right and progressively worsening.

Dermal nonneural granular cell tumor: a case report.

Dermal nonneural granular cell tumor is a rare neoplasm of uncertain histogenesis that Le Boit and colleagues originally described in 1991. It arises commonly from the back, extremities and head and neck. To the best of our knowledge, only 50 cases have been reported in adults in the English literature.

Active tuberculosis infection in moroccan patients with rheumatic diseases under biologic therapy: A multicenter national study.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of active tuberculosis (TB) infection in Moroccan patients with rheumatic diseases under biologic therapy, and to describe the demographic characteristics of these patients as well as to explore potential risk factors.

Methods: This 14-year nationally representative multicenter study enrolled Moroccan patients with rheumatic diseases who had been treated with biologic therapy. Patient medical records were reviewed retrospectively for demographic characteristics, underlying rheumatic diseases, associated comorbidities, and TB-related data.

Anxiety and Depression Disorders in Adults on Chronic Hemodialysis.

Mood disorders are common in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and may increase morbidity and mortality in adults on chronic hemodialysis (HD), affecting their quality of life (QOL). We aimed to investigate the prevalence of and factors associated with anxiety and depression in ESRD patients on chronic HD. Thirty-nine HD patients were assessed for anxiety and depression using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) questionnaire.

Association between overweight and anemia in Moroccan adolescents: a cross-sectional study.

Introduction: obesity and anemia remain global public health problems, having major negative effects on human health. We aimed to estimate the prevalence of anemia and investigate its association with overweight/obesity and excess body fat among Moroccan adolescents.

Methods: a total of 292 adolescents aged 11-17 years were recruited.

Infected Biloma after Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Fine-Needle Aspiration.

Biloma is a severe complication that can result from bile duct disruption or hepatic trauma. It can occur after biliary surgery such as cholecystectomy or an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography manipulation and endoscopic biliary sphincterotomy. We present the case of a 59-year-old man admitted for jaundice, with pain in his right flank and fever, 10 days after an endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) for an ill-defined pancreatic lesion, associated with an infected biloma.

Vitamin D status and its relationship with obesity indicators in Moroccan adult women.

Although vitamin D deficiency has been studied in various populations, there are few data on its prevalence and associated factors among Moroccan women. To determine the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and investigate its association with body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, and serum concentrations of parathyroid hormone, calcium, and phosphorus in a sample of Moroccan adult women. This is a cross-sectional study conducted at Mohammed V Military Hospital of Instruction, Rabat.

Teratocarcinosarcoma of the cheek: a case report.

Teratocarcinosarcoma is a rare and aggressive malignant tumor of uncertain histogenesis. It presents <1% of all cancers and ~3% of malignant tumors of the head and neck. It arises commonly from the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.

Bleomycin-Induced Lung Toxicity in Hodgkin's Lymphoma: Risk Factors in the Positron Emission Tomography Era.

Introduction Bleomycin is a major antimitotic agent in the first-line treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma. The main limitation of its use is its pulmonary toxicity. The objectives of this study are to find out the risk factors for the occurrence of bleomycin-induced lung toxicity in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma and, on the other hand, to determine if positron emission tomography scan is a reliable means of early detection of this toxicity.

Unruptured aneurysm with intramural thrombus is an unusual cause of spinal cord infarction: a case report.

Infarction of the spinal cord is a rather rare occurrence. Paraparesis or quadriparesis with vibration and proprioceptive senses sparing are symptoms of anterior cord syndrome. Ischemic anterior cord syndrome can result from an obstruction of the anterior spinal artery or the Adamkiewicz Artery.

Evaluation of DNA methylation in promoter regions of hTERT, TWIST1, VIM and NID2 genes in Moroccan bladder cancer patients.

Promoter hypermethylation have been reported to play a key role in bladder cancer development and progression. The aim of this study is to evaluate the methylation status of hTERT, TWIST1, VIM and NID2 genes in bladder cancer. The methylation status was evaluated using the Methylation-Specific PCR (MSP) approach on 70 tumour biopsies from Moroccan bladder cancer patients.

Objectives: To analyse the entity of retinal vasculitis, including frosted branch angiitis (FBA), or retina vascular occlusion in patients with familial Mediterranean fever (FMF).

Methods: Retrospective collaborative case series using invitation by email to uveitis specialists around the Mediterranean basin. This series was combined with a literature review.

Despite the remarkable decrease in cervical cancer incidence due to the availability of the HPV vaccine and implementation of screening programs for early detection in developed countries, this cancer remains a major health problem globally, especially in developing countries where most of the cases and mortality occur. Therefore, more understanding of molecular mechanisms of cervical cancer development might lead to the discovery of more effective diagnosis and treatment options. Research on long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) demonstrates the important roles of these molecules in many physiological processes and diseases, especially cancer.

An unusual presentation of hydatid cyst: A tight mass a case report with a literature review.

Hydatidosis is a worldwide infectious disease caused by the larval form of a parasitic tapeworm of helminths affecting mainly the liver and lungs in cattle- and sheep-raising regions. Muscle localization remains extremely rare and its diagnosis is sometimes challenging. We report the case of a 45-year-old man presenting with a swelling of the left thigh gradually increasing in size.

Cerebellar hemangioblastoma: Case report with review of the literature.

Originally recognized by Cushing and Bailey, hemangioblastoma is a developmental vascular neoplasm that is predominantly found in the posterior fossa. It is a highly vascularized tumor, with well-differentiated histologic features. Although rare, it remains the most common primary tumor of cerebellum in adults, along with metastases.

Cystic meningioma: A case report with a literature review.

Cystic meningiomas are very rare tumors of the central nervous system. We report the case of a 62-year-old female how presented headaches resistant to usual analgesics with behavior disorders. Cerebral CT scan showed a right frontal extra-axial tumor with firm and cystic component, brain MRI evoked the diagnosis, surgery removed the entire tumor and histological examination confirmed it.

Abdominopelvic Mass Revealing Tuberculosis in a Young Woman.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and remains a health problem, especially in developing countries. Abdominal location represents 5 to 10% of all locations. The clinical symptoms are not very specific, and the discovery of an abdominal mass in a context of deterioration of general state may wrongly lead to the diagnosis of a tumor.

Intramedullary spinal cord metastases (ISCM) is a rare, but devastating complication of malignant disease. This severe PID is rare, but has a higher prevalence in populations with high rates of consanguinity.
