Snake bites are a rare cause of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis that must be recognized and treated promptly to improve survival. Introduction: Despite the efforts and support of the World Health Organization and other international organizations to reduce the incidence of the disease, tetanus is still an acute condition with serious consequences, including death. The purpose of this study was to assess the tetanus patients we have been monitoring over the past two years in Somalia, a country with a protracted civil conflict, extreme poverty, and restricted access to hospital, social security, and public health facilities.
Methods: This study includes tetanus patients who were admitted to the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia, Turkey between January 1, 2022, and November 1, 2023.

Sturge-Weber syndrome is a rare, sporadic, progressive neurocutaneous condition that presents with congenital hamartomatous malformations, epilepsy, and a variety of facial symptoms. We discussed a rare case of an eighteen-year-old female child who came to our neurology department with status epilepticus, mental impairment, and a port-wine in the lateral left side of her face. We diagnosed Sturge-Weber syndrome after a thorough neurological and radiological evaluation.

Methods: An unmatched case-control study was conducted on pregnant women who visited the antenatal clinics of a tertiary referral hospital between March and July 2021. The study recruited pregnant women who had a hemoglobin level of <11 g/dL into the anemic group, while those with hemoglobin levels ≥11 g/dL were included in the non-anemic group.

Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the prevalence and risk factors for vitamin D deficiency among patients attending a tertiary hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Methods: This retrospective study examined the results of serum 25-hydroxy-vitamin D tests of 28,125 patients admitted to Somalia Mogadishu-Turkey Training and Research Hospital between January 2017 and December 2021. Vitamin D insufficiency is defined as 20-30 ng/mL, deficiency as 10-19 ng/mL, and severe deficiency as <10 ng/mL.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the pattern of bacterial colonization formed on the tip of non-tunneled temporary hemodialysis catheters and their antibiotic sensitivity.
Methods: This retrospective analysis was performed in the HD unit of an Education and Research Hospital that follows up a universe of approximately 300 patients, primarily from Mogadishu, Somalia.
