Introduction And Importance: Leiomyoma is a rare benign bladder tumor, classified into intravesical, intramural and extravesical types according to the location. Because of the difficulty of accurate preoperative diagnosis, resection is performed in the majority of the cases.
Case Presentation: A 37-year-old Japanese man presented to the hospital with a chief complaint of abdominal swelling.

Pineal parenchymal tumors (PPTs) are rare, accounting for less than 0.3% of all primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Pineal parenchymal tumors of intermediate differentiation (PPTID) (WHO grade 2 or 3) show an intermediate prognosis between pineocytoma and pineoblastoma.

Introduction: Paratesticular cellular angiofibroma is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor. The optimal management is surgical resection due to the difficulty of preoperative accurate diagnosis.
Case Presentation: A 51-year-old Japanese male visited our hospital complaining of asymptomatic left scrotal swelling.

The Japanese Urological Association's guidelines for the treatment of renal trauma were published in 2016. In conjunction with its revision, herein, we present the new guidelines for overall urotrauma. Its purpose is to provide standard diagnostic and treatment recommendations for urotrauma, including iatrogenic trauma, to preserve organ function and minimize complications and fatality.

Epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML) is a rare variant of AML with malignant potential. It is occasionally difficult to distinguish EAML from renal cell carcinoma (RCC) on imaging. A 72-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for the treatment of a left renal tumor with relatively high blood flow and a tumor thrombus extending to the inferior vena cava, suggesting RCC.

We report a case of hyperammonemia, that occurred during combined treatment with axitinib and pembrolizumab in a metastatic renal cell carcinoma patient without hepatic disorder or liver metastases.
Case Presentation: A 77-year-old Japanese woman was diagnosed with metastatic renal cell carcinoma and was treated with pembrolizumab and axitinib.

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is caused by the severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV). Although SFTS is a fatal tick-borne zoonosis, it can infect humans without tick bite exposure. Recently, direct transmission of SFTSV from companion pets to humans has become a major problem.

Background/aim: A novel mathematical diagnostic analysis using Fourier transform (FT) algorithm of the extrahepatic bile duct (BD) using magnetic resonance-cholangiography (MRC) was performed to evaluate irregularities of the bile duct lumen indicating BD cancer (BDC) extension compared to pancreatic head malignancies controls.
Patients And Methods: BD lumen was automatically traced, and a 2D-diagram cross-section was measured and a FT-based integrated-power-spectral-density-function value (FTV) of both diameter and area (mm and mm /Hz) was calculated for cancerous and non-cancerous parts utilizing a computer workstation.
Results: FT analysis that was achieved in 59 patients consisted of BDC in 31, pancreatic cancer with biliary stenosis (PC) in 10 and pancreatic neoplasm without stenosis (PN) in 18.

Aberrant activation of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and its receptor c-Met axis promotes tumor growth. Therefore, many clinical trials have been conducted. A phase 3 trial investigating a monoclonal antibody targeting HGF in combination with fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy had to be terminated prematurely; however, the reason behind the failure remains poorly defined.

Preeclampsia, a multisystem pregnancy-specific hypertensive disorder, results in significant maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. This condition is associated with placental histopathological abnormalities and particularly affects the decidual spiral arteries. Reportedly, aspirin prevents preeclampsia, specifically early-onset preeclampsia, although findings in decidual arteries in women treated with aspirin therapy remain unclear.

Objectives: The dissemination of difficult-to-treat carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) is of great concern. We clarified the risk factors underlying CRE infection mortality in Japan.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective, multicentre, observational cohort study of patients with CRE infections at 28 university hospitals from September 2014 to December 2016, using the Japanese National Surveillance criteria.

Transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM), also known as transient myeloproliferative disorder or transient leukemia, is a self-regressing neoplasia that afflicts infants with trisomy 21. A recent review article documented "myeloid cell thrombus (MCT)" and "fetal vascular malperfusion (FVM)" in placentas with TAM, although the characteristic TAM placental findings have not been clarified. Here, we compared the clinical and pathological placental findings between trisomy 21 patients with or without TAM.

Aim: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major complication in pregnancy. Placental lesions with DM remain unclear and controversial. Recently, the terms of placental pathological findings, such as maternal and fetal vascular malperfusions (MVM and FVM, respectively) were introduced by the Amsterdam Placental Workshop Group Consensus Statement (APWGCS).

Placental inflammatory lesions are important findings that lead fetal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, and can be divided into two broad subcategories, acute inflammation caused by microorganisms and chronic inflammation caused by host immune responses. Recently, a diagnostic framework for these lesions has been established, and uniform diagnostic criteria have been recommended by the Amsterdam International Consensus Group. Chorioamnionitis is representative of the acute inflammatory lesion, and is the most frequent pathological diagnosis in placental pathology.

When the fat-suppression technique was used in the MRI examinations of neck and extremities, incomplete regions of fat suppression were depicted frequently. These incomplete regions were caused by the non-uniform static magnetic field (B). On the other hand, a non-uniform B caused banding artifacts using a balanced steady-state free precession (bSSFP) sequence.
