Background: Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PanNENs) are a heterogeneous group of tumors. Although the prognosis of resected PanNENs is generally considered to be good, a relatively high recurrence rate has been reported. Given the scarcity of large-scale reports about PanNEN recurrence due to their rarity, we aimed to identify the predictors for recurrence in patients with resected PanNENs to improve prognosis.

In order to identify favorable prognostic patients after intensive chemotherapy, and who therefore might not require upfront allo-HSCT, we aimed to improve risk stratification of aggressive ATL patients aged <70 years. The clinical risk factors and genetic mutations were incorporated into risk modeling for overall survival (OS).

Utilizing mice expressing CD4 T cell-specific CARD11(E626K) and/or CD4 T cell-specific HBZ, namely CARD11(E626K) mice, HBZ transgenic (Tg) mice, and CARD11(E626K);HBZ Tg double transgenic mice, we clarify these genes' pathogenetic effects.

An Extragastrointestinal Tumor Diagnosed as a Vaginal Mass during Pregnancy.

We report a case of an extragastrointestinal stromal tumor diagnosed as a vaginal mass during pregnancy. The mass was detected during routine examination at 24 weeks of gestation. At 26 weeks, the patient underwent transvaginal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging, which revealed a blood flow-rich mass of approximately 50 × 30 mm in the rectovaginal septum.

Background And Objective: The diagnostic yield of thin bronchoscopy with radial probe endobronchial ultrasound (rEBUS) of peripheral pulmonary lesions into which the rEBUS probe cannot be inserted is unsatisfactory. In such cases, adding ultrathin bronchoscopy may be an option. We evaluated the efficacy of sequential ultrathin bronchoscopy for peripheral pulmonary lesions into which the rEBUS probe could not be inserted during thin bronchoscopy.

Postpartum regression of human papillomavirus-related vulvar cancer: A case report.

We report a case of a 23-year-old pregnant woman (gravida 2 para 0, pregnancy 33 weeks and 3 days) with a history of laser ablation for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia-3 at 22 years. At initial visit, a 2 × 2 × 1-cm elevated mass was found on right labia majora. Biopsy results revealed squamous cell carcinoma of right labia; immunostaining revealed p16 positivity.

Prognostic value of serum high mobility group box 1 protein and histone H3 levels in patients with disseminated intravascular coagulation: a multicenter prospective cohort study.

Background: We compared the prognostic value of serum high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) and histone H3 levels with the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) scores for 28-day in-hospital mortality in patients with DIC caused by various underlying diseases.

Methods: We conducted a multicenter prospective cohort study including two hematology departments, four emergency departments, and one general medicine department in Japan, between August 2017 and July 2021. We included patients diagnosed with DIC by the ISTH DIC scoring system.

Clinical course of patients with rheumatoid arthritis who continue or discontinue biologic therapy after hospitalization for infection: a retrospective observational study.

Background: To analyse the subsequent clinical course of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who either continued or discontinued biologic agents after hospitalization for infections.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical records of 230 RA patients with 307 hospitalizations for infections under biologic therapy between September 2008 and May 2014 in 15 institutions for up to 18 months after discharge. The risks of RA flares and subsequent hospitalizations for infections from 61 days to 18 months after discharge were evaluated.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 105 advanced UC patients treated with pembrolizumab after disease progression on platinum-based chemotherapy between January 2018 and June 2021. The association between the occurrence of irAEs and the efficacy of pembrolizumab was investigated.

Prognosis of Indolent Adult T-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma.

A retrospective chart survey of the clinical features of indolent adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) was conducted in the Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. This study enrolled 24 smoldering-type ATLs, 10 favorable chronic-type ATLs, and 20 unfavorable chronic-type ATLs diagnosed between 2010 and 2018. Among them, 4, 3, and 10 progressed to acute-type ATLs during their clinical course.
