Article Synopsis
  • * The impact of environmental changes, like rising temperatures and pollution, can worsen disease conditions in aquaculture by enhancing pathogen virulence.
  • * New technologies and biotechnological tools, such as probiotics and metagenomics, are being developed to improve sustainability in aquaculture while reducing the need for antibiotics and better understanding disease mechanisms.

In cattle, 17β-estradiol (E2) is essential for triggering luteolysis via the synthesis of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α). We aimed to evaluate the effects of E2-treatment on day 15 of the estrous cycle on the transcript abundance of genes involved in the PGF2α synthetic cascade. Nelore heifers (N = 50) were subjected to a hormonal protocol for the synchronization of ovulation.

The COVID-19 pandemic is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), a respiratory pathogen with neuroinvasive potential. Neurological COVID-19 manifestations include loss of smell and taste, headache, dizziness, stroke, and potentially fatal encephalitis. Several studies found elevated proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-6 IL-8, IL- 10 IL-16, IL-17A, and IL-18 in severely and critically ill COVID-19 patients may persist even after apparent recovery from infection.

New results are reported from a measurement of π^{0} electroproduction near threshold using the p(e,e^{'}p)π^{0} reaction. The experiment was designed to determine precisely the energy dependence of s- and p-wave electromagnetic multipoles as a stringent test of the predictions of chiral perturbation theory (ChPT). The data were taken with an electron beam energy of 1192 MeV using a two-spectrometer setup in Hall A at Jefferson Lab.

Relationships between physiological parameters of early posthatch chicks with their corresponding egg and embryo parameters were examined in progeny of young broiler breeders. Four hundred and 80 broiler hatching eggs that were obtained from a 29-wk-old Ross 308 breeder flock were incubated on 8 replicate tray levels of an incubator until hatch. Between 10.

When light is incident on a mirror, it induces a current density on its surface. This surface current density emits radiation, which is the observed reflected field. We consider a monochromatic incident field with an arbitrary spatial dependence, and we derive an integral equation for the Fourier-transformed surface current density.

Papillomatous digital dermatitis is a common disease in cattle. The pastern dermatitis observed in a horse shared many of the gross characteristics of papillomatous digital dermatitis in cattle. Lesions included a mixture of proliferative and erosive changes, with a verrucose appearance in some areas.
