Neurotransmitters (NTs) are specific endogenous metabolites that act as "messengers" in synaptic transmission and are widely distributed in the central nervous system. Olanzapine (OLZ), a first-line antipsychotic drug, plays a key role in sedation and hypnosis, but, it presents clinical problems with a narrow therapeutic window, large individual differences and serious adverse effects, as well as an unclear mechanism . Herein, a simultaneous targeted NT quantification and nontargeted metabolomics method was developed and validated for pharmacometabolomics analysis of OLZ by using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-HRMS).

A new method on functional orientation of Moringa leaves based on text mining and molecular docking was explored in the study. First, PubMedplus was used to analyze research data on Moringa leaves collected in PubMed and the indications of Moringa leaves were screened along with the hotspots and development tendency of Moringa leaves. Second, Arrowsmith was used to obtain the biological targets of Moringa leaves.

Four flavonoids were isolated from Gynostemma pentaphyllum by chromatography methods and their structures were identified by MS and NMR spectra data as quercetin-3-O-( 2″,6″-di-α-L-rhamnosyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside( 1),quercetin-3-O-( 2″,6″-di-α-L-rhamnosyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside( 2),quercetin-3-O-( 2″-α-L-rhamnosyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside( 3),and quercetin-3-O-( 2″-α-L-rhamnosyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside( 4). Among them, compounds 1-3 were obtained from the Cucurbitaceae family for the first time. The four flavonoids showed potent antioxidant effects against the DPPH,·OH and ■radicals in vitro, especially for DPPH radical scavenging activity with the IC50 values of 71.

However, due to the complexity and heterogeneity of tissue samples and the large number of metabolites, it is still a challenge to globally map the diverse metabolites, especially for those low-abundance functional ones. Here, a sensitive air flow-assisted desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry imaging method for the mapping of a broad range of metabolites is presented.

Three modified biochars were prepared from available corn straw pretreated with CsCl, Zn(ii), and Zr(iv) to enhance ion exchange capacity (IEC) and specific surface area, and were designated as Cs-BC, Zn-BC, and Zr-BC, respectively. These materials were characterized IEC, N adsorption-desorption, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses.
