The concept of integrating physics-based and data-driven approaches has become popular for modeling sustainable energy systems. However, the existing literature mainly focuses on the data-driven surrogates generated to replace physics-based models. These models often trade accuracy for speed but lack the generalizability, adaptability, and interpretability inherent in physics-based models, which are often indispensable in modeling real-world dynamic systems for optimization and control purposes.

Background: With neck, aging the cervicomental angle becomes obtuse and may be influenced by hyoid bone aging. An understanding of hyoid position changes with aging will further our understanding of its role in neck contour changes.
Methods: A 3D volumetric reconstruction of 282 neck computed tomography scans was performed.

Combination checkpoint blockade with anti-PD-1 and anti-CTLA-4 antibodies has shown promising efficacy in melanoma. However, the underlying mechanism in humans remains unclear. Here, we perform paired single-cell RNA and T cell receptor (TCR) sequencing across time in 36 patients with stage IV melanoma treated with anti-PD-1, anti-CTLA-4, or combination therapy.

Background: Reactive microglia and recruited peripheral macrophages contribute to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's dementia (AD). Monocytes, macrophages and microglia all express the marker colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R). 4-Cyano-N-(4-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-2-(4-methylpiperidin-1-yl)phenyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide (1) is a high-affinity antagonist for CSF1R.

Exosomes, or extracellular vesicles, represent the latest cell-free addition to the regenerative medicine toolkit. In vitro preclinical studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of exosomes, which vary based on source and biomanufacturing, for a myriad of potential therapeutic applications relevant to skin and soft tissue reconstruction. Primary search was performed in September 2021 on the MEDLINE database via PubMed and Ovid, with focus on articles about therapeutic application of exosomes or extracellular vesicles.

Background: Sudden deaths (SDs) in young people, including competitive athletes, albeit uncommon, are usually attributable to genetic, congenital or acquired cardiovascular conditions. However, it is under-appreciated that mitral valve prolapse (MVP), a relatively common valvular heart disease, is associated with SD in this youthful population.
Methods: Forty-three MVP-related SDs were identified from 2 large cardiovascular registries with pathologic, clinical, and demographic findings reported.

Hepatic sinusoids are highly specialized microcirculatory conduits within the hepatic lobules that facilitate liver functions. The sinusoids can be affected by various disorders, including sinusoidal dilatation, sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS), sinusoidal cellular infiltration, perisinusoidal infiltration, and endothelial neoplasms, such as hemangioendothelioma and angiosarcoma. While these disorders, particularly SOS and neoplasms, can be life threatening, their clinical manifestation is often nonspecific.

Cardiac electrophysiology involves the diagnosis and management of arrhythmias. CT and MRI play an increasingly important role in cardiac electrophysiology, primarily in preprocedural planning of ablation procedures but also in procedural guidance and postprocedural follow-up. The most common applications include ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF), ablation for ventricular tachycardia (VT), and for planning cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).

Background Standardized methods to measure and describe Crohn disease strictures at CT enterography are needed to guide clinical decision making and for use in therapeutic studies. Purpose To assess the reliability of CT enterography features to describe Crohn disease strictures and their correlation with stricture severity. Materials and Methods A retrospective study was conducted in 43 adult patients with symptomatic terminal ileal Crohn disease strictures who underwent standard-of-care CT enterography at a tertiary care center at the Cleveland Clinic between January 2008 and August 2016.
