Proton-Transfer Dynamics Regulates CO Electroreduction Products via Hydrogen Coverage.

ACS Cent Sci

December 2024

Key Laboratory for Green Chemical Technology of Ministry of Education, Collaborative Innovation Centre of Chemical Science and Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300072, China.

Electrochemical conversion of CO to hydrocarbons is a promising approach to carbon neutrality and energy storage. The formation of reaction intermediates involves crucial steps of proton transfer, making it essential to understand the role of protons in the electrochemical process to control the product selectivity and elucidate the underlying catalytic reaction mechanism of the CO electrochemical reduction (CORR). In this work, we proposed a strategy to regulate product selectivities by tuning local proton transport rates through a surface resin layer over cuprous oxides.

Introduction: Bunge is an important medicinal legume species widely cultivated in northeastern China (NEC) and northwestern China (NWC) and can establish a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing rhizobial strains. However, there are limited reports comparing the genetic diversity, differentiation, and gene flow of rhizobial strains associated with this plant in different geographic regions.

Methods: We used multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) to investigate the phylogeny and genetic diversity of rhizobia and to estimate their intra- and inter-regional gene flow and genetic differentiation based on the analysis of concatenated core genes (, , and ) and the critical symbiotic gene .

Introduction The degree to which each human brain hemisphere governs specific cognitive processes, such as language and handedness (the preference or dominance of one hand over the other), varies across individuals. Research has explored the nature of language laterality in left-handed (LH) individuals, indicating that left-hemisphere dominance for language is commonly observed across both left- and right-handed populations. Advanced imaging techniques, including functional transcranial Doppler sonography and fMRI, have revealed subtle differences in language lateralization between LH and right-handed (RH) individuals, particularly in semantic processing tasks.

Early childhood caries (ECC), one of the most common health problems among children aged six years and below, is considered present when one or more surfaces of a tooth are decayed, missing, or filled. Not only does ECC cause pain for a long time, but it also has short- and long-term health consequences in children. In order to treat ECC, holistic management that includes preventive, restorative, and prosthetic intervention is necessary.

Synergy of Copper Doping and Carbon Defect Engineering in Promoting C-C Coupling for Enhanced CO Photoreduction to Ethanol Activity.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Industrial Ecology and Environment Engineering (Ministry of Education), School of Environmental Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian 116024, PR China.

Photocatalytic conversion of carbon dioxide (CO) to fuel provides an ideal pathway to achieving carbon neutrality. One significant hindrance in achieving the reduction of CO to higher energy density multicarbon products (C) was the difficulty in coupling C-C bonds efficiently. Copper (Cu) is considered the most suitable metal catalyst for C-C coupling to form C products in the CO reduction reaction (CORR), but it encounters challenges such as low product selectivity and slow catalytic efficiency.
