It is crucial to understand the reasons behind it but studies on this subject performed in the Polish population are still lacking.
Material And Methods: The 329 patients (160 male and 169 female) diagnosed with IHD who reported for follow-up appointments are examined.

Context: Acute subdural hematoma (ASH) is responsible for significant morbidity and mortality in the elderly. As military neurosurgeons, we perform a simplified technique using a linear skin incision and a small craniotomy bone flap in order to ease perioperative tolerance.
Methods: The patient lies supine, a pad under the shoulder ipsilateral to the ASH, the head completely rotated on the other side and placed on a circular pad, without head clamp.

The origins of military neurosurgery are closely linked to those of neurosurgery in France and more particularly in Paris. The history of the field starts with its origins by 2 men, Thierry de Martel and Clovis Vincent. The first note about the creation of military neurosurgery was in 1942, when Marcel David was reassigned from the Sainte Anne Hospital to practice at the Val-de-Grâce Military Hospital.

Introduction: Inflammatory lesions after Influenza A viruses (IAV) are potential therapeutic target for which better understanding of post-infection immune mechanisms is required. Most studies to evaluate innate immune reactions induced by IAV are based on quantitative/functional methods and anatomical exploration is most often non-existent. We aimed to study pulmonary damage and macrophage recruitment using two-photon excitation microscopy (TPEM) after IAV infection.

Introduction And Importance: Adnexal torsion is an uncommon but urgent surgical situation more frequently observed during the reproductive years and rarely in postmenopausal women.
Case Presentation: This case report describes a postmenopausal woman with a large left ovarian cyst measuring 18 × 20 × 22 cm who experienced adnexal torsion, which is a rare occurrence in this age group. To avoid the potential requirement for additional surgical procedures in case of cyst recurrence in the remaining ovary or the development of uterine diseases a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy with cystectomy were performed.

Methods: This retrospective study included all consecutive patients undergoing R-RYGB for WLF or RGERD after SG in two bariatric care centers from 2012 to 2018.
Results: Of 720 patients, 46 (3.

The nectin family comprises four proteins, nectin-1 to -4, which act as cell adhesion molecules. Nectins have various regulatory functions in the immune system and can be upregulated or decreased in different tumors. The literature research was conducted manually by the authors using the PubMed database by searching articles published before 2023 with the combination of several nectin-related keywords.

Laparotomy incisions provide easy and rapid access to the peritoneal cavity in case of emergency surgery. Incisional hernia (IH) is a late manifestation of the failure of abdominal wall closure and represents frequent complication of any abdominal incision: IHs can cause pain and discomfort to the patients but also clinical serious sequelae like bowel obstruction, incarceration, strangulation, and necessity of reoperation. Previous guidelines and indications in the literature consider elective settings and evidence about laparotomy closure in emergency settings is lacking.
