Burkitt's lymphoma of medial part of clavicle: Case report of unusual localization.

Introduction: Burkitt lymphoma is a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in which cancer starts in immune cells called B-cells. Recognized as a fast-growing human tumor, it is considered as a medical emergency requiring immediate diagnostic and therapeutic intervention. However, intensive chemotherapy can achieve long-term survival in more than half the people with Burkitt lymphoma.

Gastrointestinal manifestations with COVID-19 virus infection: A Moroccan prospective study.

Background And Study Aims: Gastrointestinal manifestations are common during coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection. They can occur before respiratory symptoms, resulting in a diagnostic delay and an increased risk of disease transmission. The current study reports major gastrointestinal manifestations as initial symptoms of COVID-19.

BRAF hot spot mutation in thyroid carcinomas: first Moroccan experience from a single-institution retrospective study.

Background: The incidence of thyroid cancer is increasing worldwide at an alarming rate. BRAF mutation is described to be associated with a worse prognostic of thyroid carcinomas, as well as extrathyroidal invasion and increased mortality.

Objective: To our knowledge, there are no reported studies neither from Morocco nor from other Maghreb countries regarding the prevalence of BRAF mutation in thyroid carcinomas.

Internal jugular vein cavernous hemangioma occurring as lateral neck mass: Case report.

Introduction: Cavernous hemangioma is a venous malformation that occurs throughout the entire body but is rarely localized in internal jugular vein, to the best of our knowledge our case is the first case reported in the literature.

Case Report: We report a case of internal jugular vein cavernous hemangioma in a 62-year-old woman and review the literature concerning the clinical features, radiological appearance, histopathological findings and treatment options.

Discussion: Internal jugular vein cavernous hemangioma, is a very rare tumor composed of large dilated blood vessels and containing large blood-filled spaces.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in carbon monoxide poisoning in Moroccan patients.

Describe the epidemiological, clinical characteristics of acute carbon monoxide poisoning (COP), and the therapeutic effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patient's clinical outcome. This is the first study in this field in Morocco. It studies retrospectively 309 victims of acute COP with major neurological signs.

Cutaneous metastasis as a first sign of breast carcinoma.

Unlike visceral, lymphonodal or bone metastases, skin metastases are rare and their identification portends of a bad prognosis. They may appear as the first sign revealing the primary tumour, synchronous or developing late in the course of neglected primary cancer. We report a case of 86 year-old women witch belongs to this rare group of patients in whom cutaneous metastasis were identified before the primary cancer.

Achilles Tendon Xanthoma and Cholestanol Revealing Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis: A New Case Report.

Background And Aims: Several studies have shown that genetic polymorphisms of the transcription factor 7-like 2 (TCF7L2) are highly associated with the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and its associated complications in several populations. The aim of our study was to investigate the association of the rs7903146 (C/T) and rs12255372 (G/T) polymorphism in the TCF7L2 gene with the risk of developing T2DM in the Moroccan population.

We report the nearly complete genome sequence and the genetic variations of a clinical sample of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) collected from a nasopharyngeal swab specimen from a male patient from Harhoura-Rabat, Morocco. Detection of muscle metastases on F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography scan in 13 cases.

Muscular metastases (MMs) form an infrequent entity, and their physiopathology is still not well-defined. In this study, we estimated the incidence of MMs that were detected by F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography and also specified their metabolic characteristics. This study includes 13 patients with MMs from a remotely located primary tumor.

The aim of the study was to estimate the annual direct costs of biological therapies in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to establish possible factors associated with those costs. The main data source was the Moroccan registry of biological therapies in rheumatic diseases (RBSMR Registry). We included patients with available 1-year data.

Unlabelled: Several studies have reported changes in body composition in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Our study showed that body composition measurements obtained by absorptiometry were highly reproducible in patients suffering from these diseases. This study justifies the use of absorptiometry measurements in longitudinal studies in this population.
