Cellulose dressings mitigate these problems, and current reports in the literature have demonstrated positive outcomes when compared against routine dressing types.

Pulmonary transit time is a predictor of outcomes in heart failure: a cardiovascular magnetic resonance first-pass perfusion study.

Background: Pulmonary transit time (PTT) can be measured automatically from arterial input function (AIF) images of dual sequence first-pass perfusion imaging. PTT has been validated against invasive cardiac catheterisation correlating with both cardiac output and left ventricular filling pressure (both important prognostic markers in heart failure). The precise link between inflammation and pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is yet to be fully established. We developed a novel method to measure ASC/NLRP3 protein specks which are specific for the NLRP3 inflammasome only. We combined this with cytokine profiling to characterise various inflammatory markers in a large cohort of patients with lower risk MDS in comparison to healthy controls and patients with defined autoinflammatory disorders (AIDs).

Medical device-related pressure injury from compression therapy.

The use of compression therapy is known to be effective in the management of patients with venous leg ulceration and is commonly recommended as a first-line treatment. A rare but known complication of compression therapy is pressure damage to the limb, also referred to as bandage damage, which should be categorised as a medical device-related pressure injury. Patients should receive a comprehensive, holistic assessment before any compression therapy is applied.
